Popularity in Japan.

I'm wondering about .hack's popularity in Japan...well..since I'm staying in Japan for Ten days or so, give or take...and I've asked my Host Family (peeps I'm staying with) if their daughters like .hack... but..heh..I haven't gotten a reply back. Is it /much/ more of a big thing there then it is here? Should I expect to be buying loads of posters of Balmung? ^__^. What do you guys think?

Hm...I would say,yeah .hack is pretty popular over there.Since they did have those types of events when the games were coming out,kinda like an interview with the people who made the games,or something like that.
I'm not quite clear on it..since I only remember somebody signing a big poster with the cover of Infection on it :/

And I bet you they have Maha,Mia,or Balmung plushies over there too! >/

Yeah, I saw pics at CC2's page of the event parties, so it seems pretty popular. But then again, I have heard that there's too much anime (is that even possible?) in Japan, so I think the Japanese audiences obsess about it less.

Whether or not it's still really popular, I don't know. It was pretty popular at one time, though. I'm almost positive there was an issue of Newtype USA which said that it was rated the number 1 anime in Japan (or something to that effect) for a particular month. What issue that was or what month .hack//SIGN won that, I can't remember. I don't typically buy the magazine, I just wait until my friend does and then read it at his house.

Newtype report : in google, if you type : "Subaru" there'll be about 2000 fansites about her (un.. not the cars ^^;) At least that's what I remembered Xb If someone is to give a better translation, I'll be happy ^^;

.hack//SIGN : (I don't understand their new rating system. My guess is that it's rated by 3 different subject. .hack//SIGN's rank is) 7th,8th, and 3rd
.hack//UdeDen : 10, 7, and not in the 20 best
Shuugo: 10, 11, and 19 best male chara (guess tsukasa already lost his fame... oh well ^^;;)

My friend's report is that in the monthly playstation magazine, any of the .hack game is always in the best 10

^_^ So close... I can almost taste Japan. The flights there and from are pretty long though, almost a day. That sucks. But...I can stay up late and watch Anime all night and sleep on the plane. I think.
