Balmung and Rena?

I am really looking forward to the release of the .hack Manga in the US, and I was wondering about something. So I was wondering if someone could fill me in on what the relationship is between Balmung, and Rena is.

[spoiler]I never really thought there was a relationship. Rena is Shugo's sister and Balmung is a System Admin. But like you, I'm awaiting the US release and I haven't read the Japanese version (like I could if I had it). So hey, what do I know?

I'm in the same state as xeno (haven't read the jap. manga and couldn't if I wanted to) but I'm pretty sure that they're just friends....

Huh? I actually got replys? Sorry to say, but I got so impatient that I kinda went on a mad-dash across the web for information. And well, I got the info that I was looking for. ( took me several hours though O_<; ) Well, anyway. Sorry for wasting your guys time. >_>;

Rena doesn't know Balmung's name when he first rescues her in the first part, she refers to him later during the Festival as, "The Swordsman." However, when she, MIREILLE, and Shugo are doing an event hosted by Balmung, she and Mireille think he's a total jerk and perv. The treasure chest at the end of hte event he puts a Kitty Hb, Kitty Tail, Maid Get up, and School Fuku in, and Shugo is like, "Omfg, Balmung is so cool ;_; I totally see it his way! ;_;" and we see him getting a bloody nose over the thought of Mireille and Rena in those outfits. X3

So, er, she likes him at appearance, but hates his Admin-ing. >3

I so agree with you there. And You have my thanks Rhyste, for that info.
And I never get tired of looking at that picture of Mireille, and Rena in those outfits..... (Ug, did I just say that.....) @_<;

-cracks up- I couldnt forget that scene with the outfits on Rena and Mireille.Shugo was all"I so understand how he thinks! This guy is great!!"

It turns out Balmung thought it was the latest fashion in style with girls,guess he doesnt get out much x.x;

We see Balmung looking at his virtual magazine, saying, "I thought it was the latest fashion." I think he was being sarcastic. xP I like that part where Mireille is like, "OMFG HE PROLLY LOOKS LIKE THIS" and we see a some black haired programmer d00d with glasses and Rena is like, "OMFG TOTALLY LETS K33L H1M!" and Shugo is just... well, he looks pretty zoned out. :P

I was brainstorming and thought up of some theories of the whole Rena x Shugo thing. Maybe Shugo just likes BlackRoses avatar and only wants to protect his sister because he couldn't in the past. They talk about being together as a family, so maybe his longing for his sister makes him look like an incest freak of some sorts. I dunno, just my guess.
