real life tsukasa
real life tsukasa
At any point other than where tsukasa logs out, does tsukasa ever relize that he is actually a girl in reality?
I may have a maturity level of 5 but at least its cool!

This is just a personal guess, but I see a little moralizing behind the girl/boy issue. People are often treated differently based on their gender. I think .hack//sign shows this well. There was no way Subaru could have known that Tsukasa was really a girl, it makes the love so much more genuine. Looks often play an important part in the "falling in love"-process, but when you fall in love online (with or without visual PlayerCharacters) then it's always a lot more "real". I'm speaking out of experience.
Didn't it say somewhere that the events in The World would change the way people look at computers? But doesn't that mean that it will also change the way people look at eachother?
I hope I'm not taking this too far.

Re: Tsukasa
Not the way you put it exactly. Tsukasa in "The World" has a character that is of a male model. But the player Tsukasa is a girl sitting in the hospital comatose. So in a way you are right but I'm just clearing things up more..Cloak wrote:so Tsukasa is a trapped boy online but in the real world a girl

No, 'wrong' is Ranma 1/2, or Cinceralla boy.
The gender issue is a serious one for Tsukasa. You'd do best to stop being so judgemental about it, Johnny, we don't want to hear any whining about it here.
Tsukasa's father, like some others, did NOT like the fact that he had a daughter. Many fathers prefer sons, and in Japanese culture, this is often a sad fact. Women are not treated the same.
Tsukasa grew up abused and mistreated, and made to understand that, if she were not a girl, her life would be better.
She chose a boy model in The World because she could escape her reality and live a life she feels would be better. She grew up knowing that boys are better than girls, and being a boy would be better than being a girl, and so, when she was trapped in the game, her memories were messed up quite a bit. Believing she was really a boy is evidence of this, and another way that Morganna could keep her from logging out, as being a boy is better, in her mind.
Try to sympathize with the character, not point fingers and say, 'ew, that's gross!'. It's like saying girls have cooties. Grow up.

true Sora, but it's rather sad that Tsukasa would be mistreated because of his/her gender, it's not right, but even moving away from the fact that .hack's a show and alot of other things like Manga and videogames the gender issue is infact true in the real world today, jeez, I'm learning stuff on here ^-^
