I'm looking for this song...

At the beginning of episode 5, where Crim first appears, they play this song that I can't find on any of the OST's. I have all the .Hack//Sign Ost's, liminality, and the game ost's but I can't that song anywhere. Do you guys know what it's called and where I might be able to find it?

I just went and checked my collection. There's a grungy version of the song you're talking about on the third OST. It's the second listing, "Warp." I don't believe the exact version from the episode is collected anywhere, though.

Yes like Cobweb says, its track 02 Warp on the .hack//Extra Soundtracks. They also played it again in episode 21 - Despair, when he's fighting an infected monster.

Most of the songs played in the series don't seem to be exact versions of songs on the OSTs. For ex, the one they play at the end of Ep. 25 is a combination of "Open your heart" and "Open your heart (reprise)" from the OSTs.

A friend of mine said they should make another soundtrack with remixes of the .hack songs. But thanks for telling me where to find it guys.

Hey, do you guys know what OST's are out for .Hack//Liminality? I found the first opening theme on Kazaa (Edge), but I can't find the other 3. The other 3 are called Senyaichi, Kimi ga ita monogatari, and Kioku. Are they on a .Hack//Liminality ost? I have the first .hack//liminality ost though, and none of the opening songs are on there...

There won't be a specific 'remix' OST for the .hack songs. Only a few songs were re-recorded, and those were either the ones on Yuki Kajiura's album 'Fiction', or they were the different versions of 'Aura', 'Open your Heart', and a few others, I think...

Some songs were made exclusively for the show though right? Like 'Key of The Twilight' by See-Saw, and 'Gentle Twilight' by Yuki Kajiura?

I'm pretty sure that ALL of the songs were written by Kajiura specifically for .hack. But since she composed them and her band performed them, they're allowed to rerelease them (in slightly different forms) on their own CDs. "Fiction" contains several of the more recognizable songs from .hack//SIGN, as well as some others written for that CD.

It includes songs from her three biggest works, including .hack//SIGN, Aquarian Age, and Noir. There are also 4 original songs.
