Which happens first, .hack//DUSK or the games

Shugo and Rena are twins in DUSK, and play the characters Kite and Black Rose, the legendary hackers. In the game Kite gets the twilight thing and is able to data drain and hack gates and he meets Black Rose, but they are not related. So are the Kite and Black Rose from the games the legendary hackers that are played later by Shugo and Rena

This topic has been discussed more than once. It is very easy to find instead of making a short post that really can go nowehere but down.

Anyway you could have found your anwser at almost any .hack fan site with summaries. x.x ;;

Shouldn't you find it obvious, after watching DUSK, that the games come first?
