Ok i was bored an stuff..and i kept talking to the noble grunty and he started saying "Compared to Marie Antionette, you're nothing. You'll Be serving her for all eternity. And Me as well! AHAHAHAHA!"

Is it just me or is the noble Grunty evil or what? XD

He's just being mean i guess... It sounds like he wants to marry her or something and Kite will be their servant.

Looks like Mr. Grunty needs to read up on his French History... Maybe then he'd realize that serving Marie Antionette really wouldn't be much of a good thing.

Maybe it was just something one of the .hack staff people was interested in and wanted to add it. People tend to do that. (did I use that word right? "tend")

Marie Antoinette was the Queen of France. She was, I believe, killed in the French Revolution along with Louie the XVI. She was uncaring of the commoners and other people, and had a bad reputation amongst them. She would have been, however, beloved by the aristocrats and nobles, which may explain why a Noble grunty would have a special place in his heart for someone like her.

Anyways learning that Mari Anntionette was a queen probably explains why noble grunty says "you'll be serving her for all eternity!"

(I didn't know who Mari was earlier)

History teacher? No, I simply sat in my various history classes and learned what was taught to me. Not to mention, various books, pieces of music, and taking a French class or two helped.

Marie Antoinette is a very, very famous historical figure, though, so I would think most people would know the basics, especially her famous quote, 'Let them eat cake', in reference to the complaints that the peasants and commoners had nothing to eat.
