...to understand .hack//Liminality? Or can you watch them separately?

You can watch them seperatly, but there are a few little things that happen in Liminality that coincide with things happening in the games. So you'll miss out on those things... but for the majority of the plot, you'll be fine.

It's not necessary.

.hack//Liminality is there simply to show you that the events of The World are affecting the real world as well.

like everyone said its not required, but watching Liminality is recomended VERY strongly by me. You can prolly tell that i like it by my imgs he he

Castalia, I think that you don't need to... I had seen all the .hack//liminality OVA a long time before I played the game and could understand everything...
