Chatting in "The World"
Chatting in "The World"
You see everyone talking to eachother in the game, but when you look out at their RL bodies, they have a controller, & aren't using a keyboard. Do you think they use a microphone into the VR goggles? It must be built in, because I don't see one ever hanging down by their mouths.
Also, there's a chance it's not a microphone, because
Helba's real gender c.c;; unless he/she has a female voice
What are your thoughts on the speaking meathod?

It says in //INFECTION that the majority of computers have built in voice recognition systems, and that keyboards are rare... and as was dicussed in another topic the keyboard or the mic can both be used for chatting, the audio then comes out of the character using a preconfigured voice the character picked during avatar creation...
So basically when you create a new character in The World, you don't just pick the way your avatar looks, you can also pick a voice for your avatar to use... though I'd assume you could also use your real voice if you wanted too... (Mistral probably uses an edited voice, which is why her voice is so high pitched)

"Hark he of Fair eyes, I am CRtwenty of the Azure Keyboard!"

They do have mouses (mice), so it is possible that during sign they had keyboards. Also reffering to somethign I stated, //Source's banner is a picture of a real person in the show wearing VR goggles, no microphone in sight, so it's not on them, it's either on the computer, or a keyboard. Also remember whent hey were on a quest and Bear was doing the map by hand as they walked, he must have had a keyboard for that when they played and when he ran out of paper he stoppped walking, it was weird remember?
I remember that. It *was* really confusing, because one assumes you'd need both hands to use the little controller thing. Then again, that means you shouldn't be able to walk and talk at the same time in the World if everyone uses a keyboard. I'm gonna vote for a little hidden microphone ... or maybe the visor can pick up microspeech, the way your mouth moves when you're talking to yourself. Not enough for other people to see, but the computers we have *now* can pick it up, so Altimit should be able to.

Haha! There must be some sort of option to choose a voice because if Sora is a young boy, how else could he have a man's voice?
I once had a math teacher who sounded just like Mistral too, lol.

If you didn't know the anwser to a question like that, why are you here before you've seen the whole thing? x.x;;Christica wrote:What if Sora(in The Real World) was a little girl?Hema wrote:Haha! Just wondering that's all.
As he said, Sora is not a little girl, and he has a man's voice, but why'd you guys just think of Sora, what abotu Tsukasa:
He has a mans voice in the game, but he's female in RL.
Wouldn't that be a bit more obvious then Sora. ^_^
Tsukasa doesn't have a man's voice. Just a deep female voice (which is suitable for a boy who hasn't reached puberty quite yet).

I also think that there is a hidden microphone... And one of the characters you can trade with in .hack//infection told that he (or she) was glad that he (or she) didn't need to use the keyboard.
But, if I can remember correctly, Subaru in .hack//sign had a keyboard... But it wasn't shown if she had been using it or not...

Not only that but for Tsukasa
Hes in a coma the whole series except for the end credits. So its really wouldnt matter for her if you use a keyboard, pick your voice or use your own voice with a microphone. Of course Morganna could have errr "helped" her out a bit since shes the one who put her there.
Just a thought though, so im thinking there are a variety of ways of talking to other people in "The World"
