A.I?

what is an A.I? is something in the game? i know aura is an A.I

AI stands for artificial Intelligence
Monsters, shop keepers, and stuff like nonplayer chars are basicailly what it is.

NPCs are, as said, Shopkeepers, Grunties, monsters, and they are programmed to do what they do.

AIs are like NPCs, except they go around doing what ever they feel like. They are not programmed to do one specific thing... or maybe they are, but they're still free to do as they will.

These NPCs that Duskino speaks of,rather A.I.s,which are the ones that move about freely are:

Aura,Lycoris,Zephi[Zephie],Moruti,and Maha/Mia.

Now that I think about it..what about those other npcs in the Net Slum?
You know the depressed ones [excluding that hyper one who is flat as a board]that just hang around there because they couldnt fit in a type of category.

...and dont get me started on the Maha and Mia bit >>;

Yes, the creatures in Net Slum are A.I.'s

Basically A.I.'s are sentinent computer programs, they can think for themselves... as opposed to NPC's which only carry out what they are programmed to do (I.E. sell items at a store, fight P.C.'s when they appear)

BTW...

A.I. = Artifical Intelligence
P.C. = Player Character
N.P.C. = Non-Player Character

AIs thay were created by hackers/players of the game, for kicks, as PCs, but then neglected. That's why they are confused whether they fit in "PC" or "NPC".

Yes, they're basically sentient pieces of data.... but they're still A.I.'s regardless of how they were created.

On the PC or NPC note...
They can't be PC's, even if they do fight and play. They must be NPC's because there is no one in the real world to play their part... Just wanted to say that, Cuz I'm pretty sure it's true...

I'd hate to be forced to live in a net-slum, though...

Regarding the creatures in Net Slum... they were originally PC's controlled by hackers, but when the hackers eventually left, their characters still remained, and eventually became aware of their surroundings...
