I don't think Krim meant that it was /against the rules/ per say, but against his own personal rules, because of his job and such.

Bear & Mimiru technically can't contact eachother... System administration won't let them. In one episode, Crim gave his phone number to Subaru and Subaru Paniced and stated that, that was against the rules....

Besides, what if there were just two friends and one wanted to call the other later, but one forgot the other's phone number? CC wouldn't make something like that against the rules, would they? In one of the episodes on the fifth DVD Mimiru asks Bear, "What is the Tsukasa in the real world like?" Bear asks her, "Do you really wanna know?" Mimiru replies, "Nah." She goes on to say about how it feel to her like she was cheating by seeing the real Tsukasa before the real Tsukasa sees the real Mimiru.

I guess i havn't seen as much of the series as i should have to understand what is going on completely right now, i was wondering, this is a bit off topic, but could you tell me how many episodes are in the .hack//sign series, it would be beneficial for me to know. Also, i didn't know that Mimiru and Bear went into the hospital to see Tsukasa, and i didn't know that he was a girl until recently too. But how would Tsukasa love Subaru if he is a girl? and also, tsukasa doesn't remember that mall anymore sinse he died and his mind was kind of erased of some old memories.

Tsukasa and Subaru are technically can go out cause Tsukasa is a guy online in the World but offline he's a girl, but Subaru is a girl online and offline..
