.hack//Infection in .hack//Legend of the Twilight?

Has anyone noticed? On p.13 in Vol.1, in the last box, you see a picture of Helba from .hack//Infection. And then on pgs. 31 and 32, you see a whole bunch of other characters that were in .hack//Infection. Can somebody tell me what's going on?

In the seconed book there are characters from //SIGN because people wrote in asking to see them. But in book one ther're there because it's a part of the story.

Cameo appearances appear all through out the first book and in the second as well, they include Crim, Natsume, Tsukasa, Piros, Moonstone, Sora, Sanjuro, and even Gardenia (and these are just the ones I remember). It looks as if Izumi-san got tired of drawing new characters in the backgrounds and said " Oooo, I'll just draw in characters from the series and games and really freak people outzorz..."

I have .hack//Infection, and believe me, I suck. No, really, I SUCK. I've had the game for 3 months now and I'm still at Lv. 8.
