Helba told me so.

[spoiler]During his first meeting with Kite, Lios starts to delete him when Helba steps in. She comments that Lios probably doesn't have the power to delete Kite, since his data is so well protected. She also says that Lios created a vaccine for Kite's illegal powers and disguised it as a rare item.

Two of the books were given to Kite by System Administration, and the third he got from a character named Apeiron (which happens to be Lios's codename). When you consider that, it's pretty obvious that the books were just a trick.

As for why you even get them, it's just to demonstrate that Kite's character data is pretty much untouchable thanks to the Book of Twilight.[/spoiler]

So he is so protected that the books don't work either?

[spoiler]Yup. Phase Data Drains can't put him into a coma, the vaccine books can't even be installed, and I'll bet Lios's deletion skill wouldn't work on him either.[/spoiler]

actually he never used the books he just received them so they had no effect its like if i give you a organ zot scroll or a healing elixir you wont cast organ zot or be healed to full life you just receive them

[spoiler]Lios deletion skill is DD. if you dont believe me go back and watch Lios get rid of the "unescessary data" (when he deletes the screwed up PC in Mutation[/spoiler]

It's a similar skill, true, but it can't possibly be the same thing. Data Drain is an illegal skill that is not in the World's system specs. If the administrators didn't even know about it, how could they have access to it?

No, actually it is. I believe you get an e-mail about it early in the game. Also, it's character alteration, so it's cheating, which is illegal, even if Kite didn't mean to 'cheat.'

But at the same time, you must keep in mind that Lios is not a player, he is a System Admin. And thus, he is not breaking any rules, just doing his job.
