Stupid stupid DD victums

Why didn't any of them throw off their visors or more importanly slam on the "reset" button on their consols. I mean its not like they got snuck up on. Example: Orca

It would make more sence if they did so anyway.

Good point. But maybe they didn't b/c they were too amazed at what was happening to them. After all they went through, you would be amazed too, wouldn't you?

I think that It'd be scarry and once I saw what the hell was happening to me plus what I had heard from the board and online rumors I think I'd his the shut down button

I think it's kind of like a paralysis while you're being Data Drained. Your mind thinks "take off the visor! Turn off the game!", but your body refuses to respond...

When you get DD'd, your body gets put sort of into a coma, depending on how strong it was.

I know that. I ment like before you were DD'ed like when Orca was on Skeith's staff, it looked like he had time to hit the reset button on his computer

its most likely they couldnt move while being data drained, they are just at a loss of body control and on the verge of a physical breakdown like Orca like after her got DD'ed he sounded like he was tired like mess

And Tokuoka, he was just playing and seemed to be out in a daze and have a spaz attack, who knows it might just be who does Data Drain and how do they do it (ex guardians.aura,phases, etc)

you are right, i think aura did it to Tokuoka, and even if ur body was moveable i would be to afraid/scared/shocked of what was happening to even think thats wut happens to some people when they are scared they dont think (like me)

[spoiler]well, it is true that fear can paralyze you for a few seconds, but still; how do they even get data drained in the first place? Is it through their eyes (in some weird way)? If it were, they could just close their eyes or something... Of course, the data drain may not happen through their eyes. It could be an electric shock. Then that would be inevitable.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]It is confirmed that the A-tone is involved in causing the stages necessary before the data drain itself hits. The A-tone is pretty much a... argh. I can't remember what was said, but the resonance, the pitch, and the frequency all come into play to cause an effect on the... what it is? Pituitary gland? Yeah. That's it. Perhaps at that point, the effects of the coma are much easier to put down onto the victim.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]well yeah, but noone knew the tone is did anything like that. For all they knew it was just part of the Back Ground Music for that area. Remember, several people thought that the world was going through some kind of special event, and didn't think it was in any real danger.[/spoiler]

that happens to me a lot, when a portal opens and i dont see it i think its part of the music( i dont look at the warning signs).

and if i remember right...the speakers arnt on the computer but on the headset. so if u think its the background music and finally see what it is you might get cocky and try to beat it or run away, if all else fails THEN u try to log out or turn it off, but by that time u might be comatosed..

[spoiler]That may be true, but what if the user isn't using sound? That's what I do whenever I'm not supposed to be playing; I turn off the sound. Isn't it also possible that some players are using old computers that don't have speakers equipped?[/spoiler]
