Have you noticed that "Silver Night" is the only Crimson Knight who has crimson on him (or atleast any that is noticeable).
And also, all of the Crimson Knights are covered in silver when Silver Knight only has a little bit.
Is this just a transelation error?

But Ginkan (Silver Knight) was probably dubbed for his superiority, probably next up would of been Golden Knight

'Silver Knight' IS the result of a translation error.

The character's actual name is Ginkan, which would be translated best as 'Milky Way.' As in the galaxy. If you felt, for some reason, the need to translate it at all. The significance of the name is that Subaru's name translates to 'Pleiedes,' another astronomical term. Plus, as mentioned, Ginkan DOES wear some silver along with his crimson. No one's quite sure where 'Silver Knight' came from. Most likely it was just a foolish invention of the English translators, since it is never used in the Japanese version.

And the Crimson Knights aren't just named for their costumes. They're named that because they were originally led by Crim the Crimson Lightning, whose name is short for 'Crimson.' Get it? The fact that their costumes are at all red, in fact, is pretty irrelevent. There are more important, more symbolic meanings to the name 'Crimson Knights,' I'm sure. Just think about what the color red represents in today's society.

Oh, and the rumor that the correct translation for the Crimson Knights is the 'Scarlet Knights' is one of the stupidest fabrications I've EVER heard. How the heck could anyone believe that? For one thing, scarlet and crimson are BOTH JUST RED, so I don't see how one could be a correct translation and not the other. Learn your colors. For another thing, even in the Japanese version Crim is short for 'Crimson' - his name is 'Kurim,' which is short for 'Kurimuson,' WHICH IS 'CRIMSON' SPOKEN IN JAPANESE.

Hope that clears a few things up. 'Silver Knight' is a result of mistranslation, but 'Crimson Knights' is not, as far as I know. The guy's name is 'Crim,' not 'Scar.'

Oh, and don't forget Ginkan's glowing red eyes, as long as you're going by the most literal interpretation of 'crimson.'

Actually, if you look here, you'll see that the site for the Japanese company who created the .hack games has both 'Ginkan' (in kanji) and 'Silver Knight' listed. I think they were prepared for it too, as I remember when they updated this portion of the site, and that was listed before the US stuff for .hack was released here.
