Virus color
Virus color
I noticed the other day that Kite’s outfit changes color to match the virus corruption. Does this mean anything on a higher level? Was it done intentionally to make us relate Kite to the mysterious virus? Or was it just some cool bit of flavor that the programmers put in? Whatever it is why do NPC personalities notice it? I mean…. Its not like the Poison Grunty has a player on the other end.

Good question. Smart AI, maybe? (Well, if you were really on The World, anyway...)HermitIX wrote:Whatever it is why do NPC personalities notice it? I mean…. Its not like the Poison Grunty has a player on the other end.
Due to circumstances beyond your control, you are master of your fate and captain of your soul.
I am not sure, but I think that the NPC characters actually have CC Corporation employees on the other end. I know that that one guy, the sysadmin that stops you from going to corrupted dungeons... he's also the same guy that runs the shops. o.o; He doesn't act like he's too aware at times, but I dunno. But I can tell from watching UdeDen that the company does take an active part in the workings of the game though.

Well, the reason why the sysadmin looks like all the shop keeper NPC types, is because he can take control of them. Kinda like an @force command used by a wiz through a character on a muck. n.n

@_@;; Creepy! Though I'm surprised that only a few PC's have really commented on Kite's character design. Then again, I'm not very far. I would think that it would be more noticeable though, as most patterned designs that are available on character models seem to follow a set theme. His obviously stands out.

You know, I noticed the change in character designs when Kite received the bracelet, but didn't think too much about it. No one I have come across has actually mentioned it to me in the game. Strange...this does bring up a question on my part, though. At some point in this series are we going to have to fight against CC as well as the virus? Will there be a group of PCs similar to the Crimson Knights chasing us down?
i dont think so CC co. is the people behind the sceens, the most they would do is try to get you on their side. i mean considering you have trancended the game. i think the most offencive thing they would do is try to delete Kite or something. but as he is trying to stop the virus and the will loose money if the virus destroys the game... i think CC will just try to manipulate you. by giving you event books and such.
as for inside the game. no one else seems to knows whats going on. i mean look at how mistral reacts

You forget the possibility that CC is responsible for the virus....
.hack is as much about conspiracy as anyone else so I've gotten to the point that I don't really trust anyone except Kite who was a newbie when all of this started.
