Cinematech

Post by Wavemaster Minka »

There was a .hack dedication thing on Cinematech tonight. Not anything too spectacular, they showed clips of .hack//LIMINALITY and the games.

Basically what they did was show one clip of the first episode of //LIMINALITY, then a clipshow of //INFECTION, then one clip of the second episode of //LIMINALITY, then //MUTATION, so that's how the whole thing went.

So it wasn't anything too great if you've played all the games and watched all of //LIMINALITY. Though, if not, you missed out. ^^;;

They didn't show any clips of //SIGN or //Legend of the Twilight, however, which I found a bit odd.

And I think for .hack//QUARANTINE, all they showed was the opening cinema. o.o; I'm not too sure, I always skipped it, I can't stand the dub voices. 8D

the reason they didnt show any about //Sign the legend if twilight is because G4.TV is about GAMES lol

they DVDS also came with the games so they put them in as well

.hack revovles around a game, but it's all in the way "The World" is presented (whether it's though an actual game, anime, manga, or novel.)

the US is showing //Hack like they showed DBZ

the shown the middle of it and a little bit after the middle (//Lott)

soon they might (if they havnt already) shown the beginning.

but since many people have only seen the games and the show. they think the world revolves around them.

-.- omg, stupid DBZ analogies, brain...hurts! they already SHOWED the beginning and middle, and they're presenting the end right now, the books probably arent going to be translated because US Bandai doesnt want to put in the effort, the timeline works just fine without them anyway

Ok, fine, we won't use DBZ analogies...

What about Star Wars?

Well, DBZ has nothing to do with .hack, so let's stop talking about this...

Anyways,

The world as in IRL, or "The World"?

The reason, I beleive that Bandai probably wont translate the books, is because it wont appeal much to the North American fans, since you acnt watch it, play it, or see pretty pictures as your reading.
To them, as Dude has said, it's just words on a page.

kinda like a giant translating group in japanese having a chance to translate "War and Peace"

( War and Peace is a huge book which is about 3-4 times as thick as a Harry Potter book)

mainly because the //games wasnt much of a seller as it was.

many people thought it was repetitive in //infection
so they didnt want to deal with that for another 3 games in a row

and since the book and the games relate, it doesnt make much of a hit.

like pokemon, people liked the game, the show. so they watch the movies, buy the shirts, and drive custom paint cars (North Carolina is a strange place)
