Soo..what exactly are they doing?

Uhm, what are they trying to do in the manga/anime? Are they trying to eliminate teh threat of a virus, or what? Who's teh cause of all of the things that are happening, is it Morganna, and if so, why? Wasn't she trying to keep Aura from awakening, I thought she was awake o_o. Someone please explainnn o_x;;.
