question
when you go in the field's at a high level like 35, 36, 37, and so on. how do you get level ups. i've been trying but nothing works it's just either 8, 2, or 1exp.
Can you... exit the World?

goto a lvl 30 feild in the Theta surver and u should be able to get to lvl 39 before u start getting 1 all the time
remember that the max lvl u can reach in this game just depends on how much time ur willing to spend trying, lvl 35 should be a pretty good place to wait for the next and wouldn't be to hard to get to

I see i've played Infection long enough, If The World was online, i could sparr with Orca and Balmung *Cause I'm level 60* and if you cant get to this level in your game, just randomize the server address for a long time ^_^........ Or you can get gameshark and allow yourself to fight level
40-90 Monsters.. But i dont suggest that method, gameshark isnt good for you unless you've beaten the game, and made another save

has long has ur not restriced to only 1 or 2 people in the party there's not much to worry about, just keep plenty of revives with u just in case
but i do have to wonder how thier gonna make it harder since after finishing part 1 i can buy plenty of revives easy, but i guess if u end up useing 5 in a simple battle u could be in trouble, lol

actually u can not change any of the code in the hardware, this data is installed in the hardware and can't be changed in any way
shape or form
this data is preinstalled and requires special hardware used by the manufacture
there are upgrade disk that can be used to update the DVD drivers that are installed to your memory card, this is about the only thing you can change, since all changes are saved to your memory card and not the hardware
gamesharks work basically by hacking the game or by editing the games memory this will not cause any permanent damage to
your playstation since this data is all dumped once u turn it off any ways, but it can cause the game to run unstable and prevent u
from being able to save, not to mention that even if u can save using it, it can also potentially corrupt your save

That's why I came in and said 'firmware', actually. There is inherent software that tells the device itself how to operate, such as what is on the board of the hardware and everything. Not everything is either just 'hardware' or 'software', if that makes sense.
Like a DVD-ROM on a PC, has the software that operates it in the computer's OS, then the hardware itself, but the firmware happens to tell it things such as the inherent code of what 'region' it is. That's not detirmined by the software on the computer. You -can- change it through the software, but the device retains the information of how many times it's been changed.
When you go to break the region coding on a DVD-ROM, you have to not only tell the software that you're doing it, but you have to do a firmware 'flash' to disable it's 'onboard count', otherwise, what you have done will be for nothing. The same is in mind with a mod chip, actually. If you 'mod chip' something, you are replacing the current firmware chip with a new chip, if I'm correct.
...take in mind, that I'm doing this with the whole region breaking in mind. I've had to do it to two systems, and it was both the same.
Oh, wait. even better example. ^^;;;
I used to work tech support for Hewlett-Packard scanjet. There's a model of scanner (5300c) that will detirmine if there is anything wrong with the hardware, what it is, and what needs to be done with it... And it doesn't need to be connected to the PC for this to function. Same with the SCSI scanners HP has. The... 5p, I believe it is... has a hardware test that functions when you disconnect it from the computer as well- it will play Ode to Joy with it's lamp bar. The firmware is what dictates the hardware to do this without commands from the computer.

Budget Zen: When you see something so stupid that your mind goes blank rather than try to rationalize it.
Done it on a PSX (As I said though, there are some games that can detect the mod chip firmware. e.g. Japanese Tokimemo 2, FF8). Japanese Gamecube luckily had no need for a modchip. Just a simple couple of wires to a switch. VERY handy.Tsukasa wrote:...take in mind, that I'm doing this with the whole region breaking in mind. You do realize though, that on every system that requires a MODCHIP to play imports, you are violating the DMCA, even if you're intending to only play imports, as the modchip disables copy-protection. This disabling is illegal in the US and several other countries due to the DMCA and similar laws. It doesn 't matter the INTENT (this is why Microsoft maintains that Xbox modding is illegal, even for people who want to put Linux on an Xbox.). The fact that the DMCA covers modchips as a rsult, even for legal purposes cheeses me off though. Likewise for region-freeing the firmware.
Interesting sidenote: The scanner you mention (5300c) is the exact same model I picked up a few months ago for my own personal scanner (before that I was forced to use my dad's comp, which he was not often pleased about). It works quite nicely with SANE, and I've used it several times. Though it is odd that it has a different (firmware? Or hardware?) than other HP scanners and thus requires a different SANE driver than the hp one...

Firmwares are always pain. I've had old digital camera that worked on win98. I updated to newest firmware update and it wouldn't work with xp. So I had to find roundabout way to fix it. In terms of consoles, I am always afraid that I might wreck my machine when modding or somehow rigging it to make it work with imports. And about playing imports.... I am less worried about its being illegal than its voiding my warranty on consoles (when you mod it).
Back to the topic, I can't wait until the next volume of the game! New servers and no locations!

Hail Lotor!
i don't think the warenty would be the problem if they find the all important chip that doesn't belone there, and i've known people that had thier PSX fried with the mod chip
and with ur camera, i'd say get a new one or use xp's compadibility mode
i'm waiting for the next game too, but may 6th seems like a long wait, i beat the first one over a month ago and i'm working on xenosaga #1 right now, then i'll have to wait for #2 of that too, how boring
