Relavance of some minor stuff

Some random list of events related:

Deadly Flash -> VR goggle -> Epilepsy
somehow related to this event
Data drain -> Interface devices -> Either people knocked out outside or locked in cannot log out.

Guardian in .hack//sign has bracelet that data-drains
I am assuming Helba hacked into the world and got a hold of this code and gave to Kite. (

ooops, my apologies.
I meant Aura somehow had the same code and gave it to Kite, not Helba.

That's right, Aura gave it to him, I knew that. LOL

The power to Data Drain seems to be a common thing among those who go above the system. Morganna granted the power to Tsukasa through the Guardian, and Kite gained that power when he opened the book that Aura gave him. Skeith has that ability because he's a Phase (part of Morgana, and whatnot)

I think it's just one of those things that ties the many series together. These AIs and people that go above the system can Data Drain as an ability. Dunno why, you just can.

Hmmm...

But yet in .hack//dusk, the Data Drain turns the lvl 40 monster into a sword, does almost nothing to the skeleton, makes Rena/Rose like Shuugo/Kite A LOT, makes Mireille's spells frozen, makes Balmung unable to move his sword, and (I think) undoes Ouka's transformation.

And in .hack//sign, it makes Ginkan just lose his short term memory for awhile.

It seems like the effects of the Data Drain vary from use to use...

I think this is because Data Drain is a high level skill and the level of the user will determine the outcome and its effectiveness. In dusk episode 3(i think) they tell shugo he has to level up and that is why data drain didnt work effectively in the sakuro forest thing [/quote]
