Theres alot of people your age who love anime...and .hack//sign isn't real childish...>_>
Whaddya mean the orginal series? The DVDs would have english and japanese, unless you buy chinese bootlegs of ebay or something. Amazon would have the US realese too.

.hack isn't childish at all .. my younger brother actually doesn't like it all and he usually loves anything that's remotely childish :P. I think .hack is aimed the slightly-older-than-12 audience ;).

.hack holds a deeper meaning for older viewers, although it is quite entertaining for most ages. Most anime aired these days is aimed at ages 13 and up.

I think it's cool how they talk about things that really do exist, like shows that have really been on television, or even books, like "The Lord of the Rings" stories. Bear seems to know a lot about old movies from the early 1900's o.O
that's because Bear is an author... he probably reads a lot and does research for some of his stories...
Only in dreams; We see what it means
Reach out our hands; Hold on to hers
But when we wake; It's all been erased
And so it seems; Only in dreams

.Hack//Sign in my opinion is defenitely targeted at an older audience. Shows like DBZ never have any "Sad" stuff happen in them but look at .hack. Its not one of your happy-go-lucky animes. It actually has drama in it and that is what makes it good.

Actually, the movie Bear talks about in episode 11 isn't as old as you make it out to be. It's The Apartment, staring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine, directed by Billy Wilder. This movie came out in 1960.
