in regards to creating ALTIMIT OS...

Post by Invisible Egg! »

in my opinion, if you actually wanted to design an OS to emulate ALTIMIT, the ideal way to do it would be with LINUX. i'm sure most of you have seen the orange desktop wallpaper all over the web, and some of you probably are using it as your background (i am  ). anyway, if someone were serious about making ALTIMIT a reality, they should probably rip the files out of the game it self. ps2 is LINUX-based, after all, isn't it?

No. There is a Linux development kit, but it is not Linux based, IIRC. I heard rumors of a Linux microkernel in there though... I don't think they were ever substantiated.

i see. thanks for the information, Pipian. i just recently browsed your project: altimit webpage. very interesting. anyway, i was under the impression that ps2 was LINUX-based because of something i read in a magazine a few years ago. thanks for clearing that up.
