I'm planning to delete old accounts that have never been activated at all, but accounts with 0 posts will stay - people are welcome to lurk.

Is there much to say about the forum? ^_^; The Babble Board is a good place to discuss suggestions, and any major problems should be taken up with the moderators privately.

i would have to agree with bear on this one, just because someone doesn't post doesn't mean that thier not there, everyone is welcome to lurk, even I do that sometime, and only post when I feel like posting

simply having the account doesn't take that much space, I might even guess that some of the pics people have on their sigs take up more space then a good deal of the users, by clearing it out a little it would only make it easier to browse some of the more active ones and deleating one just cause it has 0 post could end up making some people mad or end up chasing them off, and if that happens u would loose any potentiole input that they might give later on

if any account deleting was to take place it would only be accounts that are known to be out of comision and/or multi accounts

sorry if i'm out of line

Maybe they are just new, looking for a topic to post in,or still trying to get used to the place. That is what I think.

Regardless, they're welcome here as long as they don't cause trouble. If they can get something out of this place and not say anything, more power to them.

We have no reason to kick them out, as they are members of the board, even if they don't say anything -_-;

Geez.

It's polite to register on a board so that people can see who is coming to it rather than guests. Who knows, they may be using the PM's as well. There's a lot of things that happen on a board that you don't outwardly see. It doesn't mean that they're doing nothing, because post count only counts the -post- numbers themselves. Not PM's or anything.

There are often times benefits to becoming a member on a board. I'm on plenty where I don't really post, but I created an account on them so I can watch everything.

Also, with a board as active as this one, it -does- save what you last read. It's easier than just fishing through the posts for what you haven't read.

We're not deleting the 0 post accounts for reasons such as this. That's that. End of story. They aren't bothering you, are they?

ok i understand now tsukasa, back on GFF forums we have problums with 0posters, because someone would register as diffrent names and junk so they could boost there reffer level, however on this site there is no refer program so we dont realy need to wory about it. ^_^ but i got my question awnsered by Tsukasa i say there is no more use for this thread conserning 0 posters.

I say purge them :\

They aren't doing anything, and it's safer to assume that they're inactive rather than lurking.

And if a lurker gets deleted, it's their fault for not posting at all, heh.

Yet again, that doesn't help give any good arguments against what I just said.

How are they bothering you anyway? You don't need to worry about them in the first place.

I think why most people want them purged is so the BBS can look more clean and nice.
I don't really want to have a say in this but, I think what I shall say is this: Give them a year and if it is an inactive account, delete them. :p Ithink that is what they should do for Habbo too.

What Tsukasa said. ^_^; They're not doing anyone any harm whatsoever, and their use of database space is utterly minimal. We're now automatically deleting accounts that are never confirmed (and thus can't be used anyway), in order to let real people have the names, but users are welcome to refrain from posting if they feel like it. We might as well give them the ability to keep track of which posts they've read, etc., since we can do this with essentially no effort.

I've seen bad cases of this, I'm a forum hopper, i spend most of my time on my own, but i see tons of this. I remember on the AMV.org forums, there were about 500 members, or more, with no posts, i dont have a problem with it, but i sometimes have to wonder, why so many?

Sorry if this sounds dumb but, doesn't more inactive users cause bandwidth problems? -.-
