Epitaph stanza from Mutation

I just jotted this down from the e-mail you receive from Wiseman in Mutation. Notice that it's quite different from the "same" stanza in Sora's Epitaph. Here goes:

Unknown where the Cursed Wave was
born...
After the stars doth cross the
heavens,
The sky in the East doth darken and
air doth fill with mourning,
From the chosen land beyond the
forest, a sign of the Wave comes.
Riding the wake is Skeith,
the shadow of Death,
to drown all that stands.
Mirage of deceit, Innis
betray all with flawed image,
and did aid the Wave.
By the power of Magus, a drop from
the Wave reach the heavens,
creates a new Wave.
With the Wave, Fidchell, the power
to tell the dark future:
hope darkens, sadness and
despair rules.
Gorre schemes when swallowed by the
Cursed Wave.
Macha seduces with the sweet trap.
Wave reaches the pinnacle,
and escape none can.
Tarvos still remains with more
cruelty to punish and destroy.
And with the turbulent destruction,
after the Wave, only a void remains
And from deep within the world
arrive Corbenik.
Perhaps then the Wave is just a
beginning as well.

Don't be fooled by that, it does not means to have more disaster to come. But the opposite.

Here is my personal take on the whole stanza (my take is pretty literal, since I'm taking the stuff there and joining it with what happens in Mutation):

In the part where it says that thanx to Magus a drop of the Wave reaches the heavens is pretty much refering to how the whole virus inside the "World" affects all of the root towns and fields, tainting their colors with more viru-ish ones (not to mention that if you looke up into the sky you'll see the whole sky of the World breached by the virus).

"Macha seduces with sweet trap", I think refers to how Morganna used Maha/Mia to entrap or seduce Kite and Tsukasa in her web of deceit.

Oh and Niu, thanx for that info, but I already knew that, though it is useful for someone reading it for the first time. It refers there to now everything starts over through Aura...

I read another post that said harold said "Befroe the mornign twilight, there always a darkness first." The last line could mean, Once the wave is defeated(Including Cubia), then the true begining will begin. Much like what was said earlier in this post...

Yes dude, this is getting a bit complicated with all these different versions of the Epitaph. I wonder if this is the true one (though if it is it's still missing some parts I think)

The one I found in japanese is the true one. I just can't translate it all. Stupid altavista babbel fish thinks Helba's the queen of the ducks. Anyway I'll have to find my friend who's fluent in japanese, they might beable to translate the full epitath.

Translation isn't an exact science, given the different rules for sentence structure in different languages, as well as certain words that don't have equivalents in other languages. So if we all want to know the "true" Epitaph of Twilight, we're all going to need to learn japanese.

I noticed something. In the version of the whole epitath that i have, i noticed a line that you get from helba in Mutation(it's in the bird cage room thing).


Shunning the field broken by Wave, the shadowed girl whispers, "Surely, I will return." Alas the truth unbeknownst, awaiting her at journey's end; Eternal mourning for her land.
When the finger points to the yonder moon, the fool will not look at the fingertip.

I remember seeing that line in the thing i have, so i'm on the right track. I do infact have the entire epitath. All there's left to do now is translate it. By the way What could that finger points to the moon mean?

Stupid Babble fish: ? (The oven) of the duck it rumbles, Helba is an Oven of the duck? lol i think not.

Helba? Queen fo Ducks???? By God! She is the Queen of DUSK. I can't believe babel fish would make such stupid mistake.

There ar ebasically two type of epitaph. First type is the ones we find out through the game. You chain them together and you get the whole epitaph. Sceond type is the on in Sora Shrine in Cyber Connect Homepage. But if you really want to go through the whole thing, you should learn the Japanese. As when you translate, you have more than on eway to translate them, and it is easy to los ethe priginal meaning.

Hmm two versions of this epitath eh? Now this IS getting a bit out of hand. Anyway, I'll have to check out CC's site for the thing too. I will crack this mystery even if I have to work day and night...and for those who think otherwise..yes I do have an actual life.

Actually, 'yami no jouou' would be queen of the dark. o.o;; I clearly remember reading it as that.
