I realized I hadn't explored these msg boards too extensively...and when I did...wait, WHAT? There are FOUR .hack series?! O_O
I skimmed some of the other areas, and maybe I'm wrong here, but the impression I got was...woah, each series has different characters? This is a whole world!...then I saw it..."AnimeJunkies has released the new digisub of .hack//Dusk 5."
WOAH...first I find out there are 4 different .hacks, now I find out...ONE'S NOT FINISHED YET?! I've never found an anime series that I loved before it was completed. I always come along afterwards, discover the wonderful goodness that is anime, and then buy up every ep. But never have I had the chance to actually look forward to a NEW episode from a series I absolutely love. Am I hearing this right? .hack//DUSK isn't done? What about the other ones? AND WHERE CAN I GET THESE?? (in their original japanese-voiced versions, subs optional)
OH HAPPY FANBOY! *dances*
.HACK'S NOT OVER?!?!?! <=D!!! I be one happy fanboy!

Bow down before the hampster god, YAMMEE!
You're correct. .hack//Udeden is being released as we speak. Episode 6 will premier Wednesday, the raw version available for download that evening, generally. AJ usually has their fansubs available 1-3 days after.
Even then, the .hack games aren't over ^^; there is one more game left to be released.

Here... This is the entire .hack project at this point and time.
.hack//AI Busters -- Novel. Takes place 'bout half a year before SIGN.
.hack//SIGN -- Original TV Series. Takes place half a year before games.
.hack// Infection , Epidemic , Corrosion , Seige -- These are the .hack games. These are the main focus of the entire project. Four games, one released every three months. Today is Feb 11th. Game 1 is now officially in the US. *.* AI Busters and SIGN are prequels and setup for the events that happen in these four games. These four games are also the supposed solution to what happens with them......
.hack//Liminality -- OVA series. Original Video Animation. This is a series of four episodes (Four... I wonder....) Each of these comes packaged with it's corresponding game. ('Infection' comes with 'In Case of Minase Mai', for example). These take place at the same time as the games, each vol at corresponding times. This is the real world following of the events in the game, following Tokuoka Junichiro, an ex-employee of the CyberConnect Company (He's a character in AI Buster as well, apparently.) out on a mission to find out what is really happening. ^-^
.hack//Tasogare no Udewa Densetsu -- Also known as 'UdeDen'. This is 'Legend of the Bracelet of Twilight'. ......or we thought the four games were the solution. -_^ 4 years after the games, you find Shugo and Rena winning the characters of Kite and Blackrose in a special competition. This series originated as a manga series, until it's first animated episode aired back in January. This is a serious contrast in feel to the .hack series. It's cute, chibi, and a lot of fun. ....all with the typical .hack 'I'll screw with your mind' wrapped into a barrel of fun! ^-^

Don't let the people who think that japanese names are cool confuse you - 'Unden' is the odd translation people are throwing onto .hack//Dusk. The two series are one and the same. Lord knows why people start calling it 'Unden' all of a sudden. Sounds like a bizzare version of an underground animal burrow or something...
Aka, the insane chibi version of .hack.

Um, Rune, thats Udeden, with an E in the middle, not an N. Unless you're trying to emphasize that some people are mispronouncing it. Udeden is a shortened version of the words UDEwa(bracelet) and DENsetsu(legend). I wonder which the US will use in their translation, if they get that far... Legend of the Bracelet of Twilight, or DUSK? It'll be interesting to see. o_o;
Another example of how Japanese people shorten words is for example, CosPlay. It's really actually short for Costume Play. ^_^
