Good gosh, guys... o.o;;

I don't check the board for a day and how many messages do I come back to? @.@;;; This isn't exactly what we mods meant by trying to 'cut down' the babble board posts. x.o;;

Just so you know, there is about three times the traffic on this part of the board than there is anything else. We could always kill the babbleboard, because this is NOT WHY THIS BOARD IS HERE.

I really don't want to have to enforce stuff on this. x.x;;

Thank you.

at least most of the "bable" is based on japanese caulter, video games. or other loosley atached to the .hack project info. including

-noob's intros
-Questions about people behind avatars(gender, age, ect...)
and other random stuff.

you guys cut out any talk of the games on the game board that would have fit there. information on items ect. and spoilers. so whats left to talk about in the .hack//limanality section? what lv your at and questioning what dungeons you have been :roll:

i think this board seams to be going down hill. but thats just my opinion.

wouldn't it make more sense to get rid of general discussion... many of the threads there could easily be put into the other categories.... actually not as many as I had thought.... but posts like the 6th .hack//sign dvd... you'd think it would go into the .hack//sign category

another solution might be to outlaw introduction threads... how unneccesary (I probably spelled that wrong...) are those?

Seriously! General discussion is for anything that "doesn't fit" other categories- What would that be? If you want to get rid of things, get rid of babble board spammers![/i]

personaly i dont see most of what is on the babble board as spam. i think it realy is a nessery part of the board. unless the purpos of this board is to beat a dead horse in which case limiting discussion to few topics, then limiting those topics? thats like saying if you dont want to talk only about therorys and impressions on the games and siries we dont want you.

While it's nice to where where people are from and how old they are sometimes... take in mind, it's not necessarily -needed-. Nor is what kind of food is your favorite, or what fried chicken you like the best.

Even posting PMs from people publicly as a method to embarass them (which will not fly here, just so you know).

*thinks* iRO, Best Buy, random comments on my name, 5 de Mayo, modern advances... While these are nice discussion topics, take in mind that we are a .hack board. It's sad to see that these get more activity in them than the actual .hack topics sometimes.

Also, as a note, the rules on the boards have been changed. The babbleboard is off topic. Everything that is .hack related and doesn't fit in a topic should be on the general discussion. I've not said anything on this, because of the fact that it was a recent change. However, I'm making it more clear now.

Take in mind, guys, moderating this board, because you spend so much time on one part of it is starting to get to me. If we (as in Sora and I) don't want to do this, this board goes bye bye. Just a little reminder. u.u

Actually, just a question about General Discussion: What would "not fit in others" mean, other than topics that concern both game and anime?

The Babble Board is definately a busy place. But most of the topics are somewhat relevant... ok, well 30% of the topics are relevant.

A message to newbies on the board:

Welcome to the forum! You don't need to start a thread just to introduce yourself! It's a waste of time and space!

Rule #1 of Message Boards:

-A General Discussion forum (or equivalent) will always be the most popular forum on a board.

Really, I do not see how this should come of a surprise to anyone. This rule holds true with most message boards; do you really expect for a specific group of people to speak of nothing but .hack?

To simply suggest that Babble Boarders go to another board to talk about their subjects is illogical as well. Everyone at Babble Board wants to know what .hack fans think about everything else.

The mods have a lot to read through every day. It would be nice is most of them were a discussion in one way or another. I agree, having a thread to find out every detail about the members here is exessive. Since everyone who has that info can make a quick and thoughtless post. You should be able to find out stuff like that by checking profiles, maybe adding more optional details would help. Reading through posts like that can get REALLY borring. I for one, would rather read posts that I can flex my brain on. The babble board is starting to look like a big chat room.

exactly what i was thinking when i was reading this. make a place for the newbs to introduce themselves, then we cut down on at least 10 new posts a week. as for how many new threads there are i'm sorry that you must read through them all but i wish you the best of luck in trying to keep this place clean.

I have a solution. Make a new catagory for intos, and remove the ability to post new threads on that section. I wouldn't recomend it though, it'd look pretty tacky.
