I don't know WTF it's about, I don't know who it stars, I don't know who the hell is writing it: I only know the title, .hack//Another Birth. I know of it from the offical webpage, kthxplzbai. And no - I don't have a translation of it, know when a translation of it will be available; I don't know the release date.
Also; some kind of supplementary of follow-up to .hack//AI BUSTER is being released called .hack//AI BUSTER/Wotan's Spear. Like the above, I have no idea WTF the details are on this one.

Anyway, .hack//Another Birth is a novelization project to turn the .hack games into novels like AI Buster. So basically, it will be a novel starring Kite and everyone.
And yes, Wotan's Spear is seemingly the final AI Buster story.

Ammending my earlier post, it seems more likely that it IS an official sidestory of sorts. I'm more than positive that Kite will pick up a copy, I'll bug him for it later. Maybe I'll even work on translating it and bribe him with something for it >_> mweheheheh.
