Whats wrong with being mute..

I don't understand..why do people have to be so mean to me just because i'm mute?:( People think I can't do things on my own >< They try to do it for me or try to say things for me and its getting me angry...whats so wrong with being mute?Why don't people just let you do stuff by yourself?

No problem that I can see. It doesn't affect us communicating on the internet, now does it? What thedudewhosadude is getting at is the fact that the character in your avatar is also mute. Is this coincidence, or did you choose it on purpose?

(to mahonpc)not at all, i just wanted to know. People think you have a disability, so they try to help you, i know how you feel, when i broke my ankel, people were overly nice (overly isn't a word, is it?) It does get bothering though

Yeah,I chose Maho(Maha whatever)because she was mute like me..soI kinda felt alittle better about myself =D I also love cats

I would consider it interesting to speak, albeit in text form, to a mute individual, in a similar manner that it is interesting to communicate with the blind, deaf, and lame.

The process of communication will be different, but it is as if one is unlocking the treasure that is the human heart.

I would like to know, however, are you mute by choice or by fate? Being mute by choice would be awful inconsiderate with others who wish to speak with you, having created such a boundary for yourself...

by choice..after my mother had died,I felt terrible and felt it was all my fault for getting into a fight with some kid at school..and I felt terrible..so I became mute for feeling so guilty

that is sooo cool! if i said i became a mute ar my school, they'd suspend me. They hate rebellion, or anything other than standard.

I know this is none of my business, but why would you think it's your fault? I mean, I'm sorry for your loss and all, but that doesn't mean you have to blame yourself for it. Sorry..... It just doesn't make sense to me.

I see your loss as unfortunate. Though, I would like to know why being mute is theraputic.
