Ok, I am using this post to say what I think the story is about. People, please feel free to fix my idea if you think it is wrong.
Harald created the world so he could crash Altimate and force the net to move on. To do this, he created the phases and Aura. He made Aura
and Morgana AIs. Morgana was supposed to awaken Aura but she decided that she wanted her own plan and tried to keep Aura sleeping. After Aura awakens, she uses one of the phases to go and disable Aura. After Kite goes through and saves Aura and defeats the phases, everyone is happy again untill .hack//Legend of the Twilight braclet. Right?
Morganna made the 8 phases, and in Dusk, well Shugo and Rena, brother and sister win the skins of Kite and Blackrose. Kite gets killed by an infected monster, but aura awakens him and gives him the twilight bracelet. With that he can Data Drain. Eventually Rena gets killed by an infected monster, and travels with Aura to look for a way out of the area she got transported to when she got killed. Anyway, some stuff happens, she gets freed, Morganna kills 3 of these weird kids that are stalking Kite. She merges with the fourth, so half is her and half is the kid. Rena get captured again, and they meet in Net Slum, where a fight between Kite and the infected monster happens. Everyone who has rena's member address get infected with a virus. Kite has an idea. He data drains everyone, which cures them of the virus, then dds the monster, and free's rena. And kills moruti, and Altimit starts to crash. Somehow, Shugo and Rena FLY thorough net slum and stop the crash. End series. Note: This is not very accurate, but i tried.
