The whole awakening/stuck in the world theme. It seems to be a popular net based theme nowadays.

BTW I just bought the Matrix:Reloaded soundtrack. You'd like it if your into heavy metal / classical / techno(all at the same time). It's a 2 disk.

Hey hey, I'm stuck in the web, put me in a movie. The theme is more modern and believable than the world being domitated by robots theme(no offense to T3). Besides this the age of information. The unofficial 4th stage of civilization.

1st = hunting and gathering
2nd = agricultural
3rd = industrial
4th = informational

Wasn't drugs a part of that one. The manipulation theme is there, and in Matrix and .hack.

tad williams' otherland series

and those are only the ones I can think of off the top of my head... it's not that uncommon.
Only in dreams; We see what it means
Reach out our hands; Hold on to hers
But when we wake; It's all been erased
And so it seems; Only in dreams

Which project began first? (.Hack or Matrix)?

If you're suggesting that one of them copied the other, I think that's not true. Anyway, The Matrix probably began first, seeing as the film was released in early 1999.

No, I doubt .hack copied a thing. The story line is more in style than it would be before 1993. At least I think that's when the internet was opened to commerce.

No it was sheer curiosity. I do not think anything was copied from one another. It is a fairly common storyline.

Ah Man! I forgot completely about TRON. There was a guy who got sucked into a videogame. But the funny thing was the level of intelligents of the programs in there. The actual AI for games like that are quite simplistic, I've made one before. Just watching them talk to each other makes me laugh! But that glowing stuff that they'd drink reminds me of the glowing chemical stuff in glow-sticks.

*Mr. Yuck says don't drink the glow-stick fluid*

:shock: ....Um....Guynietoren....Glow stick? Lol, thank you for the random outburst, I think we all appreciated that. I agree though. Yeah Tron is over and under estimated. But that just shows you that this theme has been around for a while, huh. I wonder what other things like this will come and/or which are already out there. Lol. :P
