y in the anime does Shugo not need to use virus cores to gate hack like Kite...
Our future may be bright, for after the darkness follows the light...but there's still things to fear, for the end could be near...

Because of the countless discussion on "who has the better bracelt?" but it seems as though Shugo doesn't have to, because how much it would delay the anime.

Well, maybe he does use them and we're not shown it. There are many possibilities.

You see, I have a problem with that too, y'see, I read all three of the Manga's and in those, Shugo does need to use the virus core, and Balmung gives it to him after a battle. But, the Anime goes on longer and has so many new episodes in it, that arent in the Manga, that I had to quit watching it because it got me lost, and it just wasnt any good anymore...They should've kept it a Manga... :x

in the manga he does use vires cores to hack gates but in the anime he dosent, they are basicly the same up untell the haunted house epasode when rana gets traped in the game the thing is after this point they are 2 compleatly different versons of the same seares

Most people agree that the manga's the canon story for Legend of the Twilight, so Shugo does need to use virus cores, they just removed it from the anime to save time. =/

Yes, shugo just ignores them in the show and gets them in the manga... a bit more lazy than Kite if you ask me...

actually its when shugo needs to go to hidden forbidden holy ground. Balmung gives them to him.

2/3s of the way through book 3. they appear shimmering honeycomb shaped prisms.
