The World has a medieval'ish theme, and men did wear jewelry in those days, I think.

Not to mention that in Medieval Fantasy settings (like The World) jewelry tends to have magical abilities. (oops, I mentioned it anyway!)
I mean c'mon, are you going to stand in front of Sauron (The Lord of the Rings) and call him names because he wears jewelry? Good luck with that.

What's so wrong about Mr T ? It's his own sense of style. Though you wouldn't see women dressing like him, without being a goth. Link from Zelda has earrings, they make him look more tough than girly.
