Does anyone know how long is the time period in the games?

Too bad the sky isn't blue it's just the way the atmoshpere reflect and refracts light

When I was in highschool I was able to play hours and hours of TFC online and still do homework and study...

Yeah that's true, when I got .hack//infection I got plenty of free time but I always left to go outside and eat and sleep, I do like to sleep and a lot. The storyline of all the .hack games is a month in my opinion, it is a reasonable time.

....are you sure? I think you got it wrong....a month is 4 weeks and 3 or 2 days exactly O_o you can count them if you want. You could even get a calendar. If the month have 30 days it is 4 weeks and 2 days and if the month have 31 days it is 4 weeks and 3 days....You really need a calendar

Well first of all, Orca of the Azure Sea (Descendant of Fianna, even!) is revered as "legendary" when he's level 50. When I beat MUTATION, I had Kite up to level 54, as well as most of the other PCs. Could all these players reach such a high level in only a few weeks? Of course, time seems to flow differently in the games. For example, I could start a new save file and level up to 50 in a little over a day, going on little sleep. Does that seem right, given how long Orca has likely played The World?

but remember, Orca is only referred as Descendant of Finna, because he and Balmung defeated the one sin event... so that would mean that anybody that defeated the one sin event would be called legendary.... it doesn't necessarily means that he was a high level when he was legendary...

That's why I think it would be a couple of months... that would happen...

I agree with that. However, Orca is certainly not a n00b in The World.

Remember the episode in SIGN when they mention a Message Board post (regarding the Key of the Twilight) that was deleted a year before? This implies that The World has been around for at least a year.

NOTE: The official .hack timeline says that The World was released on December 24th, 2007.

So, since the games take place after SIGN, then the games take place some time after December 24th, 2008, because of the age of that deleted post. Special events like "The One Sin" seem pretty rare, and I seem to recall reading somewhere that it ocurred quite a while before Kite started playing.

Considering all this, I would guess that Balmung and Orca were playing The World for at least 6 months before the events of INFECTION onward.

But anyway, I'm pretty sure if this were the real thing, Orca would be at a much higher level. But, go fig, this is a game and some things need to be altered for the game to be balanced. But then again, since you can look up his level and GP in the game, I can have the pleasure of going, "Haha! I'm stronger and richer that you, f00!!"

Lol! Yeah,since those who have beat Mutation are on higher levels than what Orca is.Maybe level 50 was a high level for them,they didnt need to level up anymore.

It was in close to beginning when Fragment became the "The World". And then it's that time period about a year that they been playing before kite and the game appears in the scene.

Balmung (don't know about Orca) has been playing since Fragment, I think I either saw on the official time line or that extra bonus thing on the dvd that you get with the game. Anyway I assume that Balmung was one of the original beta tester for fragment. Cause he been around for a while in the World.

But could be that since Kite has the bracelet that he could level up faster?
I mean we know he can Data Drain/Hacking... and some of the unseen would be that went fighting Phase it protects him and his party. Could be another unknown power of the bracelet, enable him to level up faster?

6months post //SIGN; Early 2010 - .hack Games Start. I don't remember where, I don't remember how, I don't remember why, but someone did INDEED, an offical bTW, say that the games take place 6 months AFTER //SIGN ends
2014 - .hack//Udeden

So the game almost took a year, 9 to 10 month appox, from what you posted... am I correct in assuming this?

another factor is the updates and stuff that are going on...
for example, early on in Infection, they close off a bunch of servers, but only a few minutes later (after you read the message board) the servers open up again... I doubt they would only close the server for literally two minutes.....
