Yeah,I find this topic rather interesting,so what if it's just from an anime.

Hmm...waiting for OUTBREAK, I see what you mean.
Possibly in the future there will be a control with 20-something buttons to do these things that we cannot explain, lol.

As a matter of actual discussion, however, I'd like to point out that likely, the smaller wings that Subaru posesses are not as rare an item as, say, the ones that Balmung or maybe Terashima Ryoko posesses. Perhaps the items they won from their specific quests are special -because- they give them the ability to fly, not just be decorative.
This is probably why Balmung's wings are so rare. You wouldn't want -too- many people flying around with them, but having a bunch of people just wearing them would be fine, I think.

Yeah, but you don't see too many blademasters that have them. 
Pfft. He wins against one monster, he gets a pair of wings. I defeat the Parasite Dragon and whatever the hell was at the Upside Down Castle, not to mention TWO sets of Goblins, and beating Balmung at the time races and grunty races.
What do I get? Three sets of crappy armor and two crappy twinblades.

ya Orca looks good the way he does. But Balmung having wingsdoes fit. He IS Balmung of the Azure Sky. But Orca of the Azure Sea.....
