Why screaming?

Post by Brad_Evans »

Kite... In vol3, the dungeon where terashima took us to, fought a monster. Kite then got hit and was thrown to the end of the corridor that time. I'm sure I heard he screamed ^^;; But why? He isn't like tsukasa, who can experince pain in the world, rite?

Surprise, surprise! Plot hole!

OK, really. There are several reasons one will scream.

1.Pain.
2.Surprise.
3.Anger.
4.For no reason at all. <--We refer to them as the 'mad' people.

:P I believe it would be 2,3, and MAAAAAAAAAAYBE 4.

Yea, it was more in surprise then anything I believe... I mean really, what would you do if you got tossed about 40 feet into a wall? Heck, I scream when I play MMORPGS too, and those don't even have VR headsets!

EX (EverQuest):
Warrior: LOH
Cleric: OOM!
Warrior: Damn!
Ranger: Ah! Aggro! INC INC!
Me: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

^_^; Yeah, I usually yell a lot when playing video games too. Either 'cause it's ticking me off, or I'm screwed, it because something spiffy happened, ect. ect.

Now, I've played with one of those VR headset thingies before (okay, not online, but it was a video game), and you can't really see anything except the game... And if I was suddenly flung fifty feet accross a dungeon, I think I'd scream too X.x;

I agree..I think Kite does realize it is a game, but if you were sent flying "unexceptly",wouldnt you go screaming if you were being hurled in the air? >>; I know I would.Besides,if they took off the screaming,it would seem more..how you say,out of place maybe?

screaming is just a natural habit, as if someone jumped out in front of you unexpectedly

AND, in there time or something, I'm guessing the game is much more realistic, like when Shugo first enters The World, he is amazed by how realistic it is. So I'm guessing it was like ACTUALLY being thrown about 40 feet into a wall, only without the pain. Heck, I'D scream too.

It may just be an over exaguration(sp?) of gameplay; they seem to cut in on their offline emotions, which may be scanned... But it mostly just adds on. Wouldn't the series stink if allyou saw was an avatar standing there without emotions, getting it;s butt kicked witha whole lot of "ahhhh!!!111oneoneone" floating over it's head?

I guess it all depends on whether Kite had to actually make an effort to scream or not ... if the game automatically registered his real-life noises of surprise, that's one thing. If he had to type "//scream" or something to make his avatar do it, then maybe he was just role playing. (shrugs)

Come to think of it, is it me, or does Kite tend to get flung around a lot? o_o Yeah, I think after a couple of times of being flung around, I'd have some hotkey to enable my character to yell or something XD "Damn! I'm being flung again... *hits key* AAAIIIIEEEEE!!"

or something x.x
