My theory is that "hidden forbidden holy ground" used to be much bigger when it was a root town. When they stopped using it, they probably lopped off everything except for the chaos gate and the main chapel. They might've done this to save on bandwidth since it would could helluva lot of money to support many root towns.

That would be because I've been running a (small, granted) Web hosting company since 1997, and doing other work in the ISP/computing industry besides. ^_^

Not really. ^_^ Our servers are in the same data center, and we happened to both be doing maintenance at the same time. (But this is getting off-topic...)
