Maha in episode 1...

Post by YamiJared »

ok, everyone, watch episode 1 of SIGN closely if you have access to it, seen it? good, now here goes: in episode 1 of SIGN, Subaru and Ginkan are talking to some fat dude in Dun Lorieng(sp?) and tells them that his friend's account got bugged after trading with Maha, the item he recieved was obviously to blame, but here's the thing: What is Maha doing trading with normal players anyway, when she has better things to do, like tempting Tsukasa, and what kind of item did she give this other player? my (flawed) theory, is that Maha and Mia have similar personalities, and like trading bugged items, but I'm sure Morganna's not the type who wants to arouse more attention then she has to, and Maha and Mia seem to have different personalities?

Morganna doesn't have much control over Maha to begin with, as she rebeled against her several times, but maybe the item the Maha traded with the shop keeper, was the exact same item that was used in the treasure chest that Tsukasa opened to make him fall into a coma in real life, AND also made it so that Tsukasa's mind could stay in the game, which would make sense since Tsukasa's a "special" case. (He's the only coma victum who can walk around and think.) If that's what happened, then Morganna told her to trade for the item.

but the person that Maha traded with was a totally different person entirely, no relating to Tsukasa, just some Moe without a name, for all intents and purposes, he's Dusk's Tim's twin brother TOM, just there as a prelude to the World's problems, and yes Maha and Mia ARE the same person, but Mia is basically Maha's reincarnation, and reincarnations have different personalities ((see Kagome and Kikyo from Inuyasha, for instance)) and yes, Morganna doesn't have that much power over Maha, but until she became attached to Tsukasa, Maha had no problem obeying her, as she had no motivation to rebel, she hasn't felt love yet. Also, didn't Maha DD Tsukasa? I was pretty sure the thing in the Treasure Chest was what gave Tsukasa the Guardian ((BTW, ALL the coma victim's minds were in the game, in Liminality, that guy in the pink shirt figured out that the PC files of coma victims had bigger files, because they contained their persona, but as Dude once said, they were put on ice because they werent needed, and we all know Morganna isn't the kind of person that would let problems arise in the World that didn't benefit her, which is why Tsukasa was allowed to walk around and such, because he was a vital tool to her plans))

1. It wouldn't matter who the person who traded with Maha was or if they knew Tsukasa or not, as long as he had the item that was nessesary.

2. If Maha didn't have any reason to rebel, then the item must relete to Morganna's mission in some way, or if she did it on her own without Morganna's orders, then she would be in fact, rebeling.

3. Maha might have data drained Tsukasa, but it isn't proven. Maha happened to be there at the time, but she could have been rigging the treasure chest, and or trying to get Tsukasa to open it like she did with the guardian. Yes and no, Tsukasa got the guardian the second time he opened the treasure chest. When he opened the chest the first time is when he was data drained. Direct quote from Tsukasa: "This treasure chest, I've opened it before, but after I opened it..." we then see a flashback of Tsukasa screaming, surrounded by circles of 1's and 0's. (data drain for slow learners) Tsukasa's data drain is releted to the treasure chest.

4. Though I have no idea who this "guy in the pink shirt" is, even if the coma victums have minds even though they aren't used, perhapps that particular item was used for awakening a coma victum's mind, which is why Morganna needed it, because maybe she couldn't do it herself.

1. I know that silly, that was my point XP I thought you were saying the person was related to Tsukasa, what I was saying was this person was SIGN's answer to Tim (the guy in the beginning of DUSK) to show that there are other problems to the World besides Tsukasa

2. well, the easter egg of Liminality 4 proves that the Data Bugs are self defense and not a byproduct of Morganna's malfunction, so maybe, Maha traded that guy some kind of Virus Core prototype to test it's data corruption properties, sort've like testing out a Trojan, maybe the one traded to our "Tom" guy (name made up for all intents and purposes in this thread) didn't work out so good, so there were other test subjects, and when it was perfected, Data Bugs started showing up. BTW, technically, since Morganna never said, or implied, that Maha can't interact with other people, then she technically isn't rebeling, and isn't Maha's purpose to interact with other people in the first place?

3. yea, I guess he did. hmm, maybe, this treasure chest was cleverly hacked to somehow react to Tsukasa and DD him, and the second time make Morganna's Installation Book thingie, if someone else were to open it, like Mimiru, they would get ordinary treasure.

4. the guy in the pink shirt from Liminality, y'know, the ex-CC Corp imployee, um, Tokunowa or something >.< as for the rest of that, what are you talking about? Maha was trading the item AWAY, and obviously Morganna didn't give a darn wether the coma victims woke up or not, and i'm pretty sure if she can pull someone into a coma, she can return them to normal, or simply wake them up and set things up to make them want to leave, as Tsukasa woke up using his Willpower (of course, Aura's Awakening did help, but it was Tsukasa's willpower that Awakened her anyway)

She could have even traded for a virus core to test it like you said, or to try to make the clones of Tsukasa's data in Net Slum. Maybe the item that Maha traded with was the Installation Book for the treasure chest. I don't think the episode specified wherther the item was traded away or not. Heck, Maha could have traded a hacked item for a hacked item in return, and maybe that's what screwed up "Tom's" character. And the guy's name is Junichi Tokuouka.

yea, that guy, anyway, they make it clear that Maha is trading away, since the item the guy got fux0red up his character, and from what the guy Subaru talks to says, he makes it sound like he and his friends value the ideals of the Knights and whatnot, like all the sheep, besides, why on earth would a normal hacker player have an item that can summon a Data Bug? and why doesn't Morganna just make her own Installation Book, when it's obvious she can

No, I'm saying that Maha could have traded AWAY a hacked item (that could have looked like a regular item, and possibly could have screwed up the fat guy's friend's character) FOR the Installation book. And maybe the Installation book was oridinary and wasn't hacked at first, but maybe Morganna or Maha hacked it so that it would install the guardian or whatever. Or maybe it was actually an item that was made with advanced technoledgy so it would only recognize one person (Tsukasa) and give him the item. Morganna could have needed that kind of technoledgy because she couldn't create it herself, and she had to asure that it would go to the right person. Or Morganna could have realized that administraters would find it suspecious if a hacked item that had never been in a dungeon before, suddenly appeared, but if Maha had the item, then the Sys. Admins would asume it was a hacker that was responsible, and wouldn't even suspect that there was a greater force involved. Thus, Morganna would be safe from the Sys. Admins, (for now) and Maha would be blamed instead.

hmm, nice theory, but we know Morganna has the technology, as she IS the world, and in almost all RPG's the game sets it up so that some rare items only appear to certain people, and Installation Books aren't really something you'd find in a chest, they're usually Event prizes and whatnot, and Aura was able to hide detection of the Bracelet, so obviously Morganna can hide detection of the Tablet, and the Sys. Admins can't do anything to Morganna even if they did find out, whenever they've tried to delete a part of her, the World would stop functioning, so they'd have to restore the data, the first part of your theory i've been saying since the beginning, minus it's purpose being for the Book, because how would the item get from the fat guy's friend to that treasure chest? it wouldn't make sense, and if Morganna can make an item to hack it, why not just rewrite the Chest's code outright and save the effort? BTW, is your avatar different? it looks different

A few things wrong with this..
1. Morgenta does NOT know about net slum untill around episode 22
2. I think the item was just some random pice of crap, I dont think it had anything to do with the story, it was problly just put in there to show that Maha was doing something illegal, and to get the Silver Knights to grab her attention.

1. your first correction, is moot, Flame, this "Morgenta" person, didn't put the Tsukasa clones there, they just floated around, and Helba gathered them and put them there, Helba says so HERSELF

2.this is a possible theory, but I doubt Maha would draw unneeded attention, since she needs to focus on Tsukasa anyway

Mann, now that I look back, it does say that the player was the one who recieved the hacked item

Yes it is, I just added shadowing and such, to make it more realisitic looking. Anyways, back on topic.

Maha would only trade for the item (whatever the item is) if she needed it, and or it was important to Morganna in some way. And now that I think about it, why would Maha trade with the friend of a Sys. Admin in the first place? Why not trade with some ordinary, unsuspecting player, and make the whole trading process a whole lot easier? Unless, that Maha/Morganna despertly needed the item, and that guy was the only one who had it. Even though the guy's friend might have valued the rules, Maha might have offered some exstremly rare items in return. The guy's friend might have been interested in personal gain, and excepted the deal without thinking of the consequnces. The item could have been even something Morganna couldn't create on her own, such as a virus, or maybe an antidote to a virus. Or maybe a hacking device, the allowed her to go beyond the internet, like she did in LIMITNALLITY (the movie theater) or the medical machines that supported Tsukasa in the real world. (Which explains why she was able to bring Tsukasa back to life, in the real world.) And it is possible that Morganna is not able to hide items, because first off, your comparing her to Aura. Aura is a much more advanced AI than Morganna, she could have learned how to mask the detection of items after she absorbed data from Aura, but that happened later in the series, not in the first episode. I'm sure the Sys. Admin's can see every item in every treasure chest since they have control over the world, and need to see if any hacked items get installed, and even if she did cloak the item, the Sys. Admin's would find it even more suspecious. Even though the Sys. Admin's can't hurt Morganna, she probably doesn't want them on her case, and watching her 24/7.

WOAH! WOAH! hold on there, this guy was NOT a Sys. Admin or even a Mod! he was just an ordinary player! besides, like in almost all MMORPG's, you can give away an item for free and it's still trading, that's what Maha could of done, because I doubt a player would have anything that Morganna would want, Morganna IS the World, if something is in the World, she can probably copy it or something like that, unless it was something like the Bracelet. the item that Maha traded AWAY was the hacked item, there was no other hacked items involved in the trade. and keep in mind that Morganna was the one programmed to write Aura's code, and that Aura is only superior to Morganna after the games, because she isn't complete until then, Morganna has free access to Aura's data. and Morganna was spreading beyond the World because of the destruction of the Phases, the World was falling apart, so Morganna was leaving it to preserve herself, perhaps the World was like her "body" and was unable to leave it when it was healthy, but when it got "sick" she was able to have an out of body experience, the more hurt she was, the farther she could spread, but that's not even a relevent issue. Morganna can make a virus or antidote quite easily, we know this for a fact from the 4th liminality easter egg, so that can't be it. and Tsukasa wasn't released by Morganna, she was released by Aura, Tsukasa's own willpower was what freed him from the World, Morganna was never keeping Tsukasa in the World againest his will, he was able to stay in the World because he wanted to, she trapped him, and he made himself stay! also, if Helba can hide an entire server from CC Corp, I bet someone like Morganna can hide ONE ITEM! also, although Morganna wouldn't want the Admins watching her, it wouldn't really hinder her activities, most of the stuff she's involved with is in areas the Admins can't reach, like Aura's Domain.
