Moderating in Moderation

Post by Sora »

Okay, so perhaps I'm not usually the type to make announcements, but I would like to ask that those users who have been doing their own form of 'moderating' please stop x_x;

We appreciate the effort and the meaning behind it, but the majority of those posts are needless and, in the end, come across as 'Oooh, I'm gonna tell the teacher, you're gonna get it!' kinda posts and it's hardly condusive to a friendly environment.

We've already had discussions about being more 'newbie friendly', and while, as a board, we aren't inclined to wear ourselves out making this place perfect for newcomers, there are levels of respect and maturity that should be present when doing anything on these boards. These posts are pointless and while it's nice of you to inform them that they've made a mistake, that's our jobs, and we can do it just fine, thank you.

So, please, try to cut back on them? I don't mean things like quoting rules about filesharing or other such important matters, but simply 'warning' the poster that their post is going to be locked is pointless and uninformative.

Thanks.
