E3 Update. Sorta.
E3 Update. Sorta.
Beh. This year's E3 didn't seem too be as interesting as last year. Bandai's booth was interesting though. Last year they had a line to try out the .hack game, and after filling out a quick survey of your 3 minute game play (e_e;) you got a shirt (either Kite or Black Rose). This year it was Helva or Mia (I got stuck with Mia, although you wouldn't find me caught dead wearing that hacker either. Was hoping for nifty me, but eh well.) You had to play the game of course- but this time it was baka puchiguso/grunty racing. I hate racing games. I hate puchigusos. I hate puchiguso racing with a passion. ~_~
Release dates for vol. 3 and vol. 4 are fall and winter of this year, respectively. We now return you to your regularly scheduled spammage. Thank you and have a nice day.

Pff.
Console games make up about 90% of the gaming market at this point. Probably more. It's HIGHLY unlikely a PC version would be playable at the next E3. The first place we'd hear about it would be either the Bandai website or the CC2 website. I'd bet on CC2, if only because they are very very quick with their news and update frequently.

I don't see the point in sending in those questionnaires although it was kinda fun filling out some of it. Heh.
But if they already have a release date slated for the last two games, it's silly to ask. And I doubt they'll listen to my 'Other:Now!' answer. ;)

*laughs* Cute quote!Invisible Egg! wrote:*thinks about it*Bandai Questionnaire wrote:What system would you like to see .hack on next?
But have you noticed how they ask that in any game questionnaire? They want to know what kind of people play their games, they aren't necessarily looking to expand the systems their games play on.
Also, Bandai is almost completely Sony-exclusive when it comes to game releases. This is legal contract stuff, it's unlikely that they -can- release .hack for the PC because it's probably PS2-only.
Sony does make PCs, yes, I own a Sony Vaio. However, they can't claim the majority of the market has a Sony PC, and they would lose a lot of money due to that. Remember, this is a project to make MONEY. Sony won't make the money at this point, Bandai will, because Bandai's selling the games, but nobody's playing it on a Sony system.
There's also the whole pirating deal. I think you know well enough about that.
This is why I find it HIGHLY unlikely that they'll release .hack for the PC. They haven't released any RPGs for the PC since Final Fantasy 8, if I recall correctly. At least, I haven't seen it.

Point well taken.
I guess if Bandai gets enough of the questionnares back, they'd take that as evidence that "there's more money to be made". A new game might be totally awesome, or it might compromise the integrity of the .hack project.
Regarding the Sony exclusivity, how about "The World, coming to PS3 in Spring 2006"?

you're right but I mean on the game so many people look like tsukasa just different colors...Moonstone looks like Sora but he has a different color costume. I don't think everyone is gonna want to have the same colors as a character, it wouldn't be original, and the idea for skins of actual characters to be awarded by contests would be pretty cool...too bad theres no "The World" game
