Liminality, lim*i*nal*i*ty --> The transitional period or phase of a rite of passage, during which the participant lacks social status or rank, remains anonymous, shows obedience and humility, and follows prescribed forms of conduct, dress, etc. [< L limin- (s. of limen) threshold + -AL1 + -ITY]

And it most likely pointing to specifically "Natural Borderline Liminality" which is how The World is making a barrier between it and the real world.

It's not all the way defined yet, so you have cases like Tsukasa where people can still break the barrier.
