He starts playing The World on the recommendation of his friend (Orca), but an unexpected turn of events awaits him... After an illegal executable alters his character's color and markings. His character becomes a unique design that does not fit into any of the six attributes for his character type. This is proof that his character has deviated from the restrictions of The World, meaning that he has become a "character that should not exist" for the system administrators. The only key in his search for answers is the "data drain" ability of the mysterious bracelet he obtained.

 "本編の主人公。友達(オルカ)に薦められてザ・ワールドを始めるが、思いもよらぬ展開が彼を待ち受けていた…。あることで不正なエクステンショ ンを行ってしまい、それが元でカラーが変化。さらに体の紋様が６属性のいずれにも当てはまらないオリジナルのデザインになってしまう。それは 彼がザ・ワールドの制約を大きく逸脱した事の証でもあり、すなわちシステム管理側にとって｢存在してはいけないキャラクター｣になってしまった ことを意味している。しかし、それによって手に入れた謎の腕輪の能力"データドレイン"だけがこのストーリーを進める唯一の鍵なのだ！"

Appearance

Kite is a young man with fair skin, teal green hair and two orange triangular wave tattoos on his face. Initially his outfit is green, but shortly after the start of the game, the data of his character is altered and his clothes change to orange. He wears orange pants with yellow symbols down the legs, a white undershirt with long sleeves, an orange vest, and brown leather boots and gloves. His clothing is decorated a few leather belts and silver clasps. He carries a tube-shaped bag on his back, strapped over his shoulder and across his chest. His hat is orange and yellow, with ear flaps and and a silver decoration that resembles a wave of unknown origin. This symbol also appears on Wiseman and Marlo.

Similar Character Model

In the .hack//fragment PS2 game, Kite's original form matches the "Twin Blade A" character preset, specifically the Wood version, while Kite's altered form matches the Fire version.

In Legend of the Twilight Bracelet, Shugo has the same character model as Kite, though he has a more youthful, cute appearance. Shugo also appears in .hack//fragment with a character model distinct from Kite's.
