The postcards came in a clear plastic, fitted bag sealed with adhesive along the flap. The pack was tucked into the left side of the game case alongside the game manual.
After the first print, the postcards were replaced with a small advertising leaflet for a .hack//SIGN DVD release.

The front of each card is white glossy paper with full color print design.
Each postcard features one of the main character profile illustrations, alongside a sketch in a specific color. The game logo features the branding with the http://www.hack.channel.or.jp url and the names of the creative trio (Ito, Kazunori, Sadamoto, Yoshiyuki, and Mashimo, Koichi).
