「The World」

「The World」is the in-fiction game at the center of the .hack series. Throughout the series chronology, there have been several different iterations of the game.

Meanwhile, on the network a new lifeform came into existence: AIDA, which caused various system errors. The birth of AIDA triggered Aura's self-protection system, producing the 3 Funeral Knights. The popularity caused a 6 month waitlist. CC Inc. was able to produce the the “Akashic Record” project based on the ideas left by Jyotaro Amagi. Aura is successfully captured and becomes the “Queen of the Demise” after the brainwashing virus. She begins to "Real Digitize" humanity, transforming people into data in order to them into the digital world. AIKAt, the youngest member of AIDA, and Tokio, a boy with special qualities, team up to save Aura. Aura's brainwashing is undone, but her data is severely damaged, weakening her. She disappears once more into the sea of data.

ドットハック セカイの向こうに (2024年)
2024年に公開。世界観が一新さ れ、浮島を舞台とする世界と なったが、根幹には黄備の確文 のイメージが存在する。利用者 数は2000万人とされる。飛空組 など新たなシステムが登場。 「「「THE WORLD」に帰還したアウ ラは有城そらに「種」を託す。第 二のRAプロジェクトによりア ウラのコピーとして生み出され たソフィアは、ワクチンソフトと して存続。ソフィアを売り込む ために用意されたウィルスバグ が想定外の増殖を開始し、再び 大規模なネットワーククライシ スが発生する。有域そらから成 長した「種」を受け取ったアウラ は復活し、その力でネットワー クを正常化させるのだった。
