Vagrant AI

A Vagrant AI is an entity in The World that surpasses the system and displays sapience. These programs do not follow their original function and are associated with the game's data corruption. Because of their illicit nature, they are frequently targeted for removal from the system by Administrators. As sapient beings, they seek to evade deletion in order to continue existing. For this reason, they frequently flee their pursuers and wander seeking safety, which is why they are called "Wandering" or "Vagrant" AI.
These entities are often the result of Morganna's Experiments, though sometimes they exist due to player data or the involvement of hackers.
Vagrant AI could also technically be considered NPCs, since they are not controlled by a human at a Computer Terminal. However, as they are also not controlled by normal programming due to the unusual circumstances of their existence, they are classified as a distinct type of entity from regular NPCs.
