The desktop environment serves as one of the main settings in the Games Tetralogy. The desktop is the first thing players see whenever starting the game or or loading a save file, even if they last saved at the Save Shop in the Root Towns. The desktop is designed to use the in-fiction ALTIMIT operating system. Before logging into The World, players can use a number of applications to further explore the lore of the series and customize the desktop to their preferences.



Desktop

Once a player boots up the game, they have a few icons to choose from on the left hand side of the screen.

The World

A Massive Multiplayer Online game that was the first of it's kind to come out after Pluto's Kiss. Developed specifically for use on ALTIMIT OS.

Game Launcher

Launches The World. Players will start near the Chaos Gate.

BBS

Players can read forum posts here.

Log Out

Returns user to the desktop.

Mailer

Where players check their E-mail.

News

A digital newsletter that informs the player about events that happen offline and occasional news about The World.

Accessory

The default desktop image for ALTIMIT OS

Allows players to customize their desktop with wallpapers that can be unlocked by progressing through the games.

Audio

Allows players to customize their desktop background music, which can be unlocked by progressing through the games.

Data Management

Where players can save and load their game data.
