Kite spins around, surprised as an unfamiliar voice calls out to him.

Orca

Hey. You made it!

Kite

Uh…

Orca

Hey, it's me. Orca, the
Blademaster.

Kite

Whoa! You look so different
From the real Yasuhiko.
Nothing like the real you.

Orca

Hey, in this game I'm Orca!
Regardless of what I am in reality,
I'm pretty well known here.

Orca

What…?

Kite

No, you look great. :-)

Orca

Anyway, take this.

System:

You now have
Orca's member address!

Orca

Member Address is the Flash Mail
Address you can only access in
"The World."

Orca

With Flash Mail, you can exchange
Messages with others in real time
As long as you are in "The World."

Orca

It's mostly used by newbies to
Contact other players to form
a party.

Orca

Try it out by inviting me
to join your party.

Orca

First, press the Triangle Button button to
open the menu.

The menu opens, and Orca continues speaking.

Orca

In the menu, select Party.

Orca

Next, select Add.

Orca

Names of players who gave you
Their member addresses will be
listed here.

Orca

Choose a player you want to
Invite to your party, and send
a Flash Mail.

Orca

Since you just started, you
probably only have my
member address. :-)

Orca

Now press the Cross Button button twice,
to send a Flash Mail to me.

System:

Calling party member.
Please standby.

Orca

…Ah, got it! "Join my party!"
It's kinda weird mailing each
other when we're face to face. :-)

Orca

See? My name appears under your
screen. That means I'm in your
party.

Orca

By the way, Flash Mail is only
available when you're in a town.

Orca

Oh, and you can't contact people
when they're not logged into
"The World."

Orca

People do have a life, you know.
We're not online 24/7!

Orca

In other words, you can't always
count on the same members to form
a party.

Orca

So, try to get as many member
addresses as you can. You'll
have more fun that way.

Orca

Well, how you play is up to you,
but since EXP and stuff isn't
divided among party members continue
you really don't benefit if
you go solo. :-)

Orca

OK. Well, why don't we head off?
There's nothing to worry about. I
found a perfect place for newbies!

Orca

This is the Chaos Gate, a sort
of transfer device that takes us

from one place to another. continue
Now, press the Cross Button button.

Orca

In "The World," each play zone is
called an Area, determined by a
combination of 3 keywords. continue
Select New Keyword.

Orca

This is the Keyword Screen. At
the top is the Entry Plate. continue
You put the 3 selected keywords
one by one for each part: A, B,
and C.

Orca

Left of the Entry Plate is all
the keywords you have. continue
You can collect more of them by
reading your e-mails, the Board,
and from other players.continue
Now, let's enter some keywords by
starting with Part A. continue
Select Bursting from
the list.

Orca

Good. Next for Part B, select
Passed Over. continue
For the last one, in Part C,
select Aqua Field. continue
Now you're done specifying
the area. continue

Orca

Oh, one more thing. You see the
symbol on the left next to the
keyword? continue
That's the Server Symbol. It
indicates which server you are
currently logged onto. continue
This symbol is delta, so we're
logged onto the Delta Server. continue

Orca

The list on the bottom right is
The Area Status List. continue
See the Jewel next to the field
type and dungeon? continue
That indicates how the selected
keyword affects the status. continue
For example, check the field type.
See the Jewel on the right? continue
This means that the field type is
being determined by Aqua Field,
the keyword in C. continue

Orca

We don't know what kind of field
the current keyword will create
until we get there. continue
But once we learn the effect of
that keyword, we can combine it
with other keywords effectively. continue
For more details, check out the
Board on your own time. continue

Orca

All right, let's get going to the
Δ Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field! continue
Select Warp.

The party warps to the Area.

Δ Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field

For information about this area, see: Δ Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field

Field

Δ Server

Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field

Kite and Orca appear in a grassland field. They are surrounded by 4 magic portals.

Orca

Before we get going, let me
explain to you about the
Camera Control. continue
During the game, enemies will
attack from all directions. continue

The idea is to adjust your view
quickly to see your enemy and
grasp the situation. continue
I'll explain more later, but
remember, you can only use Skills
on targets you can see. continue
Basically, if you don't use the
camera right, you'll be dead
before you know it. continue

The camera angle changes, jumping behind Orca and Kite.

Orca

First, rotate the camera. Push

either the L1 Button button or the R1 Button button to move the camera.

Once the player inputs L1 or R1 to rotate the camera:

Orca

Good. Next, let's zoom in and
zoom out. continue
You can zoom the camera in or out
by using the right analog stick.
Try it.

Once the player zooms in and out a few times:

Orca

Yeah, that's it. continue
Finally, you reset the camera by
pushing the R2 Button button.

Orca

There ya go. Remember, when the
battle stars, constantly adjust
your camera. continue

The camera begins circling Orca and Kite.

Orca

Okay, and this is the Field.
It's the lowest level in the area. continue
When you want to return to the
town, press the Triangle Button button and
select Gate Out from the menu. continue
Grassland, wilderness, and jungle
are some of the field types.
You can set them with keywords. continue
The combination of field type and
weather determines the Area
Elements
. continue
For example, if it's a grassland
and it's raining, that area will
be a Water Element stage. continue
The elements also affect the type
of monsters that will appear and
the items you can get. continue
Don't worry about it now. As you
get used to it, combine words to
get different elements. continue

The camera returns to the spot behind Orca and Kite. A map appears in the upper right corner.

Orca

Now, let's get going on our quest!
First, check the map at top right. continue
You see the Red Down Arrow on it?
That's the gate to the Dungeon. continue
In the dungeon's deepest level
there's a Gott Statue that
usually holds a rare item. continue
Basically the goal is to reach
this statue. continue
But enemies are often tougher down
there, so gain some levels above
ground before you head below. continue
OK, wait a sec. continue

System

Orca used Fairy's Orb!

The locations of the 4 magic portals are revealed on the map.

Orca

By using the Fairy's Orb,
hidden data on the map becomes
visible, like this. continue
Yellow areas on the map show
Magic Portals where you encounter
monsters and treasures. continue
All right! How about we go pick a
fight? Head for one of the magic
portals. continue

Kite and Orca approach the portal located directly ahead of them. The portal activates and fades, revealing a Goblin.

Orca

For a basic attack, approach the
target and press the Cross Button button. continue
By the way, a cursor appears on
the target so that you can check
Its name and HP. continue
Try using a basic attack to defeat
some monsters. continue

Kite defeats the goblin after several blows.

Orca

You've started to get the hang
of it, right? OK, let's try using
Skills. continue
Press the Triangle Button button to open
the menu, and select Skills.

The menu opens, and Orca continues speaking.

Orca

OK then, choose Repth from the
list.

Orca

When the target cursor appears,
Select the target and press the
Cross Button button to execute.

Kite casts Repth.

Orca

That's it. Pretty easy huh? continue
You can target a party member for
recovery or remedy skills and the
enemy for attack skills. continue
Remember, you can only apply
skills to targets within your
view. continue
Before using a skill, adjust the
camera so that your target comes
into view. continue
Well, you must be sick of me
at this point. :-) continue
It's your turn to tell me what to
do by using Chat Commands.

Orca

OK, I'll teach you the command to
get your members to heal. continue
OK, then press the Square Button button to
open the menu.

The menu opens, and Orca continues speaking.

Orca

Next, go head and choose
First Aid! from the menu.

After Orca casts a multiple-healing spell (La Repth?) on the party:

Orca

Well? It's good to be the
boss, isn't it? :-) continue
If you use it well, you can bunch
up on the enemy or give separate
orders to each party member. continue
When you add new members to the
party, try various chat commands
to see their effects. continue
That's it for now! Just remember
what you learned, and start
exploring. continue
When you think you're ready,
we'll head for the dungeon! continue

The player regains full control of Kite.

Dungeon

Upon Entering the Dungeon:

Orca

Now we can start exploring
the dungeon! continue
One thing you need to remember
is that you can't Gate Out when
you're in a dungeon. continue
To Gate Out and return to the
town, you have to go back to the
field. continue
The Sprite Ocarina will warp
you to the surface, but you can't use
it during battle. continue

The camera cuts to a different angle, focusing on one of the two boxes in front of the party. The reticle focuses on the brown box. Orca continues:

Orca

This is the treasure box.
But you knew that right?
:-) continue
You should know that there are
two types of treasure boxes,
normal and booby-trapped. continue

Orca

This one's normal. Hit the
Cross Button button to open it.

Kite receives an item from the Treasure.

System

You now have Resurrect!

(Wiki wishlist: Double check if the item is actually always the same.)
The reticle now focuses on the blue-tinted treasure chest.

Orca

This one's booby-trapped. Notice
the different color? Try to open
it as is and you're screwed. continue
Just use the Fortune Wire on it.
This item will disarm the trap. continue

Orca uses an item on the Risky Treasure:

System

Orca used the Fortune Wire!

The Risky Treasure shifts from blue to brown, becoming a regular Treasure box.

Orca

See, now it's safe to open. Press

The Cross Button button to open it. continue

Kite receives an item from the Treasure.

System

You now have [item]!

Note: Different players/playthroughs appear to get different items from this chest; The Hanged Man and Green Gale. Unsure if the item pool is restricted to Scrolls or if other items can be acquired. Wiki wishlist: Additional research is needed.

B1

Entering the next room of the dungeon triggers the following cutscene:
In the Dungeon Girl Chased

After the cutscene, the player regains control of Kite. At the intersection, the player may choose to go right or left. The path to the left will progress the story. The path to the right is optional; a small room with a single Treasure box.
Upon entering the room at the end of the path to the right, Kite has a small line of unvoiced dialogue. The parentheses indicate that this text is Kite's internal thoughts:

Kite

(It's a dead end. That girl…) continue

If the player opens the Treasure box found in the room:

System

You now have a Speed Charm!

Note: Different players/playthroughs appear to consistently get a Speed Charm from this Treasure. (Wiki wishlist: Double check if the item is actually always the same.)

Following the path to the left leads the party to a room and activates a brief scene upon entry. The camera focuses on the entryway behind Kite, revealing spiked gates lowering to obstruct the doorway.

Orca

Better watch out, we're trapped
in here! continue
In the dungeon, there are rooms
with traps everywhere. continue

The camera pans to reveal a magic portal around the corner. Orca continues:

Orca

The only way to get out a trap
like this is by activating all the
the magic portals in the room. continue
All right, let's charge to that
magic portal! continue

The portal activates, revealing monsters for the party to fight. (Wiki wishlist: Double check if the monsters from this portal are always the same or not.)
After the fight is over, the party continues down to the next floor of the dungeon.

B2

To progress the story, players must enter the room with the Gott Statue. The other rooms are optional.

Upon entering the Gott Statue chamber:

Orca

This is the room where the statue is. continue
There's only one of 'em at the
dungeon's deepest level, and you
can get rare items from it. continue
That's enough adventure for now.
Let's grab the treasure and get
back to town, shall we? continue
If we had a Sprite Ocarina we
could warp out of here, but
we don't have one. continue
So we gotta go back the way we
just came. continue

Gott Statue chest: Steel Blades, Rainbow Card, Grunt Doll? (Wiki wishlist: Double check if the items are always the same.)

Leaving the Gott Statue room triggers the following cutscenes:

After the System Error

The following dialogue appears over a black screen.

(Kite's Player)

What was wrong with Yasuhiko?
Why was he upset? continue
I wanted to ask him, but he
wouldn't even pick up the phone. continue
And then… continue
The next day, I found out that
Yasuhiko had been hospitalized. continue
I rushed to the hospital, but they
wouldn't even let me see him. continue
But I guess it's better this way.
I didn't want to see him all weak,
and he wouldn't want that either. continue
But…
What the hell happened to him? continue
I have a feeling that the key to
it is somewhere in…
"The World." continue

Mac Anu: Meeting BlackRose

Cutscene:

After cutscene:

Kite

(I guess I'll get my gear first.
I want to collect some information
as well.) continue

If the player tries to talk to BlackRose again before approaching the Chaos Gate, BlackRose has the following dialogue:

BlackRose

You again… I'm busy right now.
Can't you just leave me alone? continue

Note: From this point on, attempting to add Orca to the party fails, because Yasuhiko is in a coma.

System

Calling party member.
Please stand by.
There is no response to the
Flash Mail.
Player is absent from the world. continue

Upon approaching the Chaos Gate, BlackRose calls out to Kite.

Blackrose

Wait a sec! continue
Yeah, you. I uh - I know
some interesting keywords. continue
If you go with me, I'll tell you
what they are. Do you want to
know? continue

Choice

Kite

Yes, by all means.

Kite

Ah, maybe next time.

BlackRose

Right on! That's the spirit!

Spoken like a true newbie.

BlackRose

Fine, be that way.

If the player chooses "Ah, maybe next time" and eventually speaks to BlackRose or attempts to use the Chaos gate again:

BlackRose

Oh, so you do want to come.

Why didn't you just say so In the first place! (next)

Choice

Kite

Yeah, I'll go.

Kite

On second thought, maybe not.

BlackRose

Well then, just say so in the

first place! OK, we're off!

BlackRose

Just make up your mind already!

Upon accepting BlackRose's offer:

System

You now have
BlackRose's member address!

BlackRose

The keywords are:
Δ Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground.

System

Δ Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground.
is added to the Word List.

If the player tries to access the gate without BlackRose:

BlackRose

What are you doing? You have to
add me to your party!

Inviting BlackRose to party:

BlackRose

OK, here I come!

Δ Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground

BlackRose

Whoa. This place is…

Kite

 ?

BlackRose

Nevermind. Let's go. Well, are
you going to escort me like a
proper gentleman?

Once the party enters the church, the following cutscenes occur:

Aura

The book.
Open the book.

Kite

The book?

Aura

The power it holds can bring forth
either salvation or destruction at
the whim of the user.
