Liminality DVD Easter Eggs

The North American release of the Liminality DVDs included several Easter Eggs alongside the bonus content included with each DVD. These Easter Eggs include hidden menu options that could be accessed through specific DVD player button inputs. The original Japanese release had keywords hidden in the background details of some scenes, so the North American release has added the translated keywords into the DVD subtitle track. Most of the Japanese keywords include the Server symbol, but the North American version does not.

Steps to open the hidden menu option:

• Start from the Main Menu
• Go to the "Data" menu
• Use the arrow keys to scroll down to the "Character Art Gallery" option
• Press right on the remote's directional pad (the cursor will disappear.)
• Press remote's select button

This will open the secret menu, which shows various "Mysteries" of the series.
Note: If accessing the DVD via PC, positioning the cursor over the area to the right of the "Character Art Gallery" should reveal the hidden button.

	Mystery//01 Mia and Grunty When the player trades with Noble and Iron Grunties, the number of trades with Mia Increases in the "Ryu Books."
	Mystery//02 Sieg The character, Sieg, played by Tomonari Kasumi appears as(sic) in the game. He is one of the two players talking about Mia in front of the Chaos Gate in Mac Anu. Though the incident in the game and the OVA follow the same timeline, it seems as though Orca fell into a coma before Tomonari did.
	Mystery//03 Six Players in Comas In ".hack//Liminality in the case of Mai Minase," Tokuoka says that t here are six platers who fell into a coma like Tomonari. From the accounts of the game: Tomonari Kasumi, Orca, Alf, and an individual related to BlackRose can be confirmed. At this time it cannpt be confirmed whether "Tsukasa" from .hack//SIGN amd ptjers from the real world are included in the other two counts.
	Mystery//04 Chat There are two ways players in "The World" communicate with each other. The first one is "Open Chat," which allows multiple players to congregate and communicate with with everyone. The other is "Personal Chat" where the conversation is one-on-one. By using "The World Makeup Language System (WMLS)" developed by CC Corporation, it is said that there is no difficulty in selecting either form of chat function.
	Mystery//05 The World Version Updates "The World" has been upgraded numerous times, and with each version upgrade, several functions have been added or limited. The fact that Player Killing (PK) that(sic) was possible in .hack//SIGN has now been disallowed in the game shows that there has been a major upgrade in the system. The official version upgrades announced from CC Corporation are the following: 2006 "Fragment" ver. α-01 2007 "Fragment" ver. β.02 2007 (end) "The World" ver. 1.00 2008 "The World" ver. 1.40 2009 "The World" ver. 1.81 (.hack//SIGN?) 2010 "The World" ver. 2.01 (game & OVA?)
	Mystery//06 Red Chaos Gate A red Chaos Gate appeared in front of BT and Crim at "Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground" in .hack//SIGN. The field of "Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground" was first constructed as a Root Town by CC Corporation, but was discarded for some reason. It is said that "Helba" created an original Chaos Gate using that discarded field. Because of this rumor, the red Chaos Gate is known as the "Helba Gate," but the field that is conencted from the "Helba Gate" was not created by Helba. Of course, these are only rumors...
	Mystery//07 Engraving on the Sword In the "Log In" screen of "The World," there is a sword with an engraving of "Key of the Twilight." Apparently, the incident that took place in .hack//SIGN was also a major problem for the CC Corporation. A massive personnel change was also conducted within the company. Since then, CC Corporation and the succeeding System Administrator have decided to display these words to gauge the reactions of users regarding this mysterious item, "Key of the Twilight."
	Mystery//08 Data Drain In the game, Skeith performs Data Drain on Orca, and Yasuhiko, Orca's real world counterpart, falls into a coma. However, in the battle with Skeith at the end of .hack//INFECTION," the party members do not fall into comas when Skeith performs Data Drain. The power of the Bracelet seems to lessen the force of Skeith's attack... but if Skeith had performed "PROTECT BREAK" on the party, the outcome could have been different.

These hidden menu options will take you to bios for Harald (Japanese TVCF), Emma (Japanese Promo Clip), and Morganna (.hack//SIGN Characters).

	Harald Hörwick He is a German with an unknown past. He is the developer of "Fragment," the prototype to "The World" and was the one who initially brought the project to CC Corporation. "Fragment" was created as a place to give birth to the fruit of his unrequited love for Emma Wielant. What is this fruit of unrequited love? What is the conclusion that has been prepared? And what are the feelings that he has enveloped?
	Emma Wielant She is the author of the epic poem, "Epitaph of Twilight." She meets Harald Hörwick at a seminar, and he falls in love with her, but she only loved his talent. She leaves this world without completing the "Epitaph of Twilight." Harald's feelings for her eventually lead to the birth of "Fragment." It can be said that all of this started with this one woman.
	Morganna Mode Gone She is responsible for Tsukasa being unable to log out and also the woman who provided him with the Guardian. She is a mysterious, hidden individual in both the TV series and the game. Most players in "The World," do not even know about her existence, but for those who aspire for the normal operation of "The World," she shows dark, evil intentions. She tries to stop Aura's awakening in the TV series, and pursues her in the game. She seems to be obsessed with Aura's existence.
