Public Phone Network Completion

The complete upgrade of public phones to
be compatible with network terminals (Net
Phone Box) that started last year is nearly
complete.

This overhaul connects all of the public
phones in the country with a fiber optic net
which allows a 100Mbps connection to the
internet using any public phone.

Some skeptics have said the completion of
the project within a year was unlikely due
to the delay in development of
interchangeable software with the key OS
"ALTIMIT," but the hard work of all parties
involved has been rewarded.

Though most cell phones, PDA, and laptops
are able to connect, machines without a Net
Phone Box compatibility will require a
separate adapter. With hopes of new
demands, manufacturers are developing new
products and accessories for the market.
