The desktop environment serves as one of the main settings in the Games Tetralogy. The desktop is the first thing players see whenever starting the game or or loading a save file, even if they last saved at the Save Shop in the Root Towns. The desktop is designed to use the in-fiction ALTIMIT operating system. Before logging into The World, players can use a number of applications to further explore the lore of the series and customize the desktop to their preferences.
